The Force Awakens Favourtie Sequences/Scenes/Moments! {SPOILERS}

I think the title covers everything! People are doing their full reviews but I thought it would be cool to have a more specific thread on the parts that grabbed us, excited us, made us sad, made us laugh etc...

I'll just go with my top 5 for now!

5. Luke turns to meet Rey
4. The Falcon vs TIE's Jakku chase
3. Rey out-forcing Kylo to get Anakin's Lightsaber
2. The tracking shot of Poe taking out TIE and giving aerial support as Fin battles on the ground.
1. Chewie in the Falcon hovering up over the side of the snowy mountain to rescue Rey and Finn, I just thought it was a beautiful shot.

3. First Order strikes Jakku - The carnage and chaos. Poe going up against everyone and Kylo's arrival. Have to mention him stopping that blaster shot too. Just amazing.

2. Luke Skywalker - Need I say more?!

1. First Order strikes Jakku Pt. 2 - When Rey and Finn hop on board the Falcon. Just incredible visuals and a damn good battle against the TIE Fighters. Loved everything about it.

Rey vs Kylo Ren, can't wait to see their rematch in the future.

So many.

The whole opening 45 minutes I thought were paced so well. But standouts have to be

- C3PO's introduction. Got a HUGE laugh at my screening.
- The Stormtroopers walking away from Kylo going mental.
- The whole action sequence on Takodana especially the shot of Poe taking out fighters whilst also following Finn.
- The lightsaber fight. And the first time you hear the lightsaber.
- Rey/Kylo's lightsaber force fight
- Rey using the mind tricks for the first and the stormtrooper dropping the gun.

Chewie's "berserker"( after han's demise) moment taking out a bunch of storm troppers with his crossbow/blaster.

Kylo's introduction/ freezing that blast mid air

the chase /dog fight between the MF and the tie fighter specially that moment when the MF shuts off? the engines and free falls and when the ti fighter gets close it gets a surprise blast from finn.

That awesome continuos shot of poe's x-wing taking out a bunch of fighters one after the other and then blowing up a squadron of storm troopers before blazing out of frame.

I thought it was VERY well made (tons better than the prequels) but I was more than annoyed with the multitude of mirrored beats from "A New Hope." I felt like many of the key moments were telegraphed from a mile away, especially the fate of Han Solo. To me, sacrificing his character in the service of this "New Hope" retread felt lazy and horribly predictable.
Maybe my opinion will change on subsequent viewings. I'm just pretty bummed to be feeling this way after two freaking years of hype.

I really loved Rey's whole introduction. How wordless and still it was.

Finn and Rey choosing a ship to escape Jakku. The entire theater just burst out laughing at the reveal and it was so great.

From beginning to the end of the film.

- Kylo Ren blocking Poe's blaster shot and suspending it in the air.

- Poe and Finn escaping in a TIE fighter.

- Finn and Rey choosing the 'old piece of junk' to escape. t:

- "Chewie. We're home."

- Maz Kanata's scenes. I don't know. Something about her appearance plus Lupita Nyongo's performance made her such an endearing character.

- Everytime Han uses Chewie's bowcaster. More than 40 years together and it's like Han is only now realizing what a great weapon it is.

- Rey's visions after touching Luke's lightsaber.

- The Starkiller Base firing it's planet killing laser on Coruscant and it's sister planets.

- Finn using Luke's lightsaber to duel with that Stormtrooper

- Rey and Ren's first meeting.

- Han and Leia's reunion. Plus C-3PO ruining the moment yet again.

- Kylo Ren trying to interrogate Rey using the Force. Only for Rey to turn the tables and scare the s**t out of him.

- Han's crazy ass maneuver of jumping out of hyperspace near the planet's surface. That ranks up there as one of the craziest s**t he's done in the saga.

- Rey trying and finally succeeding in Force persuading the guard to release her.

- Han confronting Kylo Ren on the bridge, and Ren subsequently killing him.

- Finn dueling with Ren. Despite being horribly outclassed, Finn does get some shots in before Ren puts him down.

- Rey dueling with Kylo Ren. I don't care if people say Ren was at a disadvantage because he was injured. He still got his ass kicked by a girl who was a complete novice in the Ways of the Force. It showed the untapped potential Rey possesses.

- Rey finally meeting Luke in the end. Damn does Mark Hamill look impressive as an elderly Jedi master.

- The Starkiller Base firing it's planet killing laser on Coruscant and it's sister planets.

That scene was a visual masterpiece for me, especially the whole base lighting up red before the shot.

[The Demon's Head]

Can't believe nobody mentioned Han, Finnn and Rey vs. The Intergalactic bandits. Felt pure Star Wars to me.

I loved that Han was still getting in over his head.

Kylo Ren being not as in control as Vader. I think Snoke is doing a Darth Maul to him, just teaching him enough.

Real Storm Troopers. Hollywood, more practical FX please, looks so much better.

A sense of urgency that the prequels were lacking.

5. Shot of Leia, Han and Chewie all back together again.
6. BB-8 in general.

Those are the ones that stick out initially.

1. Rey force pulling the lightsaber to her and fight with Kylo.

Yes, instant goosebumps when this happened.

-Chewy got a lot more to do here than he did in the classic films. I always felt like he was more like window dressing than a real character, but in this movie he was given emotion, some great action, and actual plot importance.
