Feared lost, original art of Wolverine debut found

Actually, the original drawings had been destroyed, but they completely regenerated themselves last week.

Yeah, in this perticular case it really took more time than usual to get healed.

Have you ever had a papercut? Those things are persistent.

With all the social buzz Wolverine has gotten over the years in the movie verse I'm actually really surprised these first issues aren't more $$$

The issue, written by Len Wein and called "And the Wind Howls Wendigo" is valued at $400 in near-mint condition while issue 181, which is the first, full Wolverine story, is valued at $1,800 in near-mint condition, per the 43rd Overstreet Comic Price Guide.

I'd say it's because of a combination of things, not the least of which is by that point (late 70's, early 80's) people realized comic books can be worth money and at this point in time (X-Men, Wolverine movie popularity), those people are trying to sell theirs, and undercutting one another to the point a comic that once might have sold for three or even four times it's current value is not going to sell at all.

I have a UK edition of this comic in my room...
