Fertilizer Plant explodes in Texas.

That footage of the explosion is terrifying. My God.

It seems like the dad thought they were far enough away. They seemed to be at least a half mile away or more.

His first thought should have been I have a child and that is a chemical plant burning. Lets get out of here. Besides the hearing damage, there is cuts and scrapes from where it blew all the windows out. Could have got in their eyes. And then there is the debris coming their way and falling.

You always think you're far enough away when you're filming something.

I agree but you can tell it's an honest mistake on his part.

Lets hope CNN isn't covering this as well......we'll probably find out their Exclusive News is that monkey's who escaped a local zoo caused the explosion.

What a terrible week....I just want it to be over with :( My prayers go out to everyone involved in this horrible explosion.

What a bad a week. My God.. I wish this was just some random accident and not another p****d of person or persons if that's who they or was. My prayers go out to the people of Texas. I just want to pull the covers over my head, stay in bed and this week to be over.

Yeah, if I wasn't such a believer in coincidences I'd think someone really had it in for us.

Any confirmation if this is or isn't an accident?

One thing is for sure, he will never make that mistake again.

No doubt. All I was trying to convey was that it's a little presumptuous to just right off the jump be like "He's a piece of **** father!" Know what I mean? They were a good ways away and the way they were talking in the video and everything just made it seem like they were doing what basically anybody would do in that situation. I mean, who would think being like a half a mile away like that would still cause so much damage. It is incredibly sad though, has the number of deceased been confirmed as over 100?

Hasn't been confirmed, but based on local reports here in Dallas, all signs point it to being accidental. Nobody locally is reporting anything except that it was most likely an accident.

Feeling extra bad for the people of West, Texas today. Almost seems like they've been forgotten already with everything happening today.

Not surprising though due to the nature of both this and Boston. While all indications point towards a freak accident here (although not officially confirmed), in Boston it's terrorism.

Again, not confirmed that it was an accident, but all indications are that this is likely.

Of course, I understand that. It just sucks Texas seems a bit cut off now as it sifts through the wreckage, likely still finding a few people who didn't make it out.

I don't know what to say. I feel bad that the poor West, Texas isn't getting the acknowledgment it would have gotten if it weren't for the overlapping of the Boston bombing.

That guy was interviewed by Anderson Cooper. I remember the exact interview.

Funny that I felt something was sort of off about the guy.

So remember when the Texas plant exploded just a couple days after the Boston bombings and officials were quick to reassure the public this explosion was purely accidental and not deliberate?

Well.......

Hm, interesting development. Honestly, with the safety violations and such, the major thing I wondered was what started the fire in the first place. I didn't believe any of those conspiracies saying a plane crashed into it, or a drone, but they never really said how that fire began, and this could be the answer. Or it could be a guy with problems who did have some thing she shouldn't have, and is getting caught up in his accident. But we'll see.
