With this along side Final Fantasy Dissidia, I am so glad to have picked up a PSP.

Since I have a PS3 and an X360, I traded my old PS2 and XBOX for a PSP from a friend I work with. Such an awesome deal!!! I love my PSP as a handheld device.

Sooo.... bumping this thread. Did anyone buy the game yet? It's already been out for a while. I purchased the game like 2 weeks ago or so and having a blast. Fights are rather easy, though they can be annoying as well against enemies with 1 hit kills and death spells. But it's just so much fun to play as that I could possibly get angry. Or too angry...

It's nice to play Zack and watch him working his way up to SOLDIER 1st Class and it's really cool, and somewhat weird since I already know how it's going to end, to be pals with Sephiroth. The story isn't always the most logical, but putting everything else from the game into account and the high quality presentation, easily forgivable.

Which brings us now to graphics. The graphics imo put everything to shame that's been released so far on the PSP. They even look better than certain games on the PS2. And cutscenes are of Advent Children quality. The lip synch is just perfect, as if Square-Enix worked extra on the lip synch for the american release. Because the lip movemenets actually match the words. Voice overs are for most of the time pretty solid.

The game gets easily a 8.5/10 from me.

Im thinking of playing this game but Ive never played FF VII. Will I be lost? Do I need that game to understand and follow along with Crisis Core?

No, at all. Crisis Core is a prequel to the events of FFVII. So can play Crisis Core just perfectly fine, and some time later the main FFVII game if you feel like it.
