The creator of the gaming franchise just broke his twitter silence to post this image so it seems to be happening

Personally I'm a fan of the series so much so I spent a week sketching a bloody a2 poster of the characters. But I know it's something that splits people sometimes to the extreme

So what's your thoughts on the idea of a film I think with the actual lore and backstory it's something that could make an interesting film with a new horror villain that we haven't seen before.

Any thoughts

I was wondering if they really would go through with it, or if the film would end up in development hell.

Either way, I'm glad to know it's the former.

never played the games, but I've read about them and watched Youtubers play through them.

the premise is interesting and creepy enough, so I think this could work.

I'm just hoping they get someone like Henson on board for the effects

I enjoy the storyline and all the possibilities it has, especially if you mix in stuff from the games that are spinoffs but not made by Scott. They can fill in some gaps quite interestingly, but only Scott knows the end game for sure. I'm all for this, could be like a modern Child's Play with animatronics.

Games have a great storyline so this has more potential than first might appear.

It'd be awesome if Markiplier had a cameo in this. :D

yeah, it does tap into the same deep-rooted fear that Child's Play did.

the whole "toys" coming to life fear.

I really like the lore of the series so I'm definitely intrigued for a film adaptation.

Wow did they miss the hype train for this... like Slender.

They've waited too long for this imo. Had this come out shortly or just a few years after FNAF 3, then there would still be interest from a lot of people. Now it's just like, what's the point since it seems like it's going to end up in development hell anyway?
Hell even when Sister Location was building hype could have been an opportune window.

Sounds like the creator is the problem.

And since he is trash, let this movie die in development hell.

Yeah after learning he is anti-LGBTQ+ among other things...

I mean... I don't agree with Scott Cawthon's views, but FNAF is not molded by any of them. I don't see how that should prevent it from being made. I don't think it should be made, but for entirely different reasons that aren't connected to him.

Heck, I'd be more excited to see a Walton Files movie at this point. Feel like it executes the concept better.

When he is in the same position as Rowling, one has to wonder.

H.P. Lovecraft was a racist, awful person but I’d still give anything to see Guillermo del Toro’s At the Mountains of Madness.

HP Lovecraft is dead. The creator of this game is not, and he has approval powers.

I thought that was made already. :funny:

I mean it did kinda kill the future of the franchise since Scott announced he wouldn't make anymore games when it all came out. I'm gonna assume this may go into development hell.

It certainly didn't help matters, yeah. But on that front, the FNAF lore was getting so convoluted to begin with so I'm actually glad there are no more games.

I still think it should have ended after 3.

And look what happened.

Yes, Sony took a hatchet to the movie due to an unrelated stabbing incident from a few years prior (the directors tried to sell it off to Netflix but Sony intervened), but here's my rebuttal to that incident: Slender Man is not real. He is not a demon, he is not the devil, he's nothing to make "sacrifices" to. He's a spooky, fictional monster made up by people on the Internet for fun, nothing more! It's not worth physically harming anyone for! The girls responsible for that incident clearly had mental issues and the father of one of them who whined about the movie before release is a moron who's covering for someone who's clearly sick and needs help instead of being pampered like that. Also, the movie wasn't even about the stabbing incident, so WTF was he complaining about?

As for FNAF, yeah bury it. The time has come and gone, Nic Cage beat them to the punch on that movie. I'd say that's good enough for us.
