God this is better than what ended up in the movie. The costume is the real costume. It is edited tighter, and He doesn't stand at the door for like 2 minutes to bask in all the praise. I would have liked that part of the movie better if this had been the cut, with more of William's music in it, and the real damn costume, and if Routh had been allowed to get bulkier.

this was better. but i didnt have a problem with the plane sequence.

God the suit real suit with the Big S looks so much better. And the fact that the CGI Supes was as big as Supes should have been, and not what Routh was forced to be based on some stupid survey amoungst women. So stupid. Warner's, release the Pre-vis of the whole movie on dvd. I'll watch that thing and use SR as a drink coaster.

you really can not comment on the previs superman. he looks worst that a model from poser.

Gotta say, this is much better than the rescue in the film.
The suit, the pacing, the "lighting" all improve on the impact of the rescue.
A lot less personal damage inside the plane, (Lois being tossed about like a rag doll bothered me). It is made clear that grabbing the wing stabilizes the plane, and it was clear to the passengers inside.

It just feels more like the correct tone for a Superman film.

Wow. That is unbelievable. I love to see how they get these things done, the Previs work is ridiculous.

It was obvious Supes' was grabbing the wing to stabilise in the movie as the plane was spin out of control quite rapidly before he grabbed the wing. It was obvious to me at least!

It's the intent, but it was not obvious. It is much clearer in the previs, and more importantly to the passengers in the plane, who represent how the audience reacts, that Superman was on the job.

I thought it was obvious, made even more so by the fact that Lois finally falls to the floor oncfe he grabs it, and i got all that on first viewing.

Re: Official Rate and Review Superman Returns thread!!!
I liked it. I liked STM better. Not that it did anything wrong, I just think STM is more epic to me.

I have to say I had gripes about the opening credits. the originals was done with the slit scan and it seemed to have a more 3 dimensional quality than these ones did. I was really disapointed as I figured they could make it better and it wasn't. I am not talking about the space scenes behind the titles in STM, but the Titles themselves. they just looked better and had better highlights of white in it, giving a more 3D look than this did, which was 3D. And the planets and everything else seemed to just look really computer generated to me, which was a let down as the same company did the same thing for Contact 9 years ago and it thought that one looked a lot better and not so computer generated.

I am going to see it again, and again in IMAX 3D.

I also didn't like the end titles being white titles over black. I wished they had beem more the 3D slitscan over starts like STM's was.

I thought Les should have been more single minded on revenge and killing Superman and abandoning his land scheme after Superman showed up again. Like "Dammit. Here I have finally got the stuf for a new plan and he shows up out of nowhere again!"

STM still seemed more epic to me. And it had a lot more disasters that he saved than this movie. But STM still seems larger than life and epic to me than this one did.

Donners Cut is the Superman movie of the year. Take that Singer!

Lester was the original Singer!

So much anger! Lighten up, it's Friday, put on your best suit real suit and hit the town!

Ummm...who are you. I never met you before. I don't know you. Another SR liker who can't stand people who don't like the fact that a bulk of the people hated the movie. Ever see me jumping on you guys about liking it? No.

And I had just gotten back from the first showing and at that minute it wasn't the train wreck I was anticipating it would be. But I started thinking about it and then the plot holes where evident. And the fact that there were so many. A day later, I did realize that it was a train wreck. So did the GA with the rate the box office dropped.

And I don't know who you are. This is the first time I have seen you post here. Me thinks you are a previous poster who is using a new screen name as yo out of the blue have to jump on my post.

Umm I have a girlfriend and we are staying home tonight. And I wasn't angry. I said the suit wa obviously the real superman suit in the previs, with the big S and all, and it looks better than that POS suit Singer gave us. And, as other posters who have agreed with me, the previs cut is better, tighter, and it uses the real suit. Don't like our opinions, that is your problem.

Wow Buggs...doesn't sound like somebody who hated the movie as much as he claims. Very interesting.

Like I said. I had just come back from the theater and I was amazed that it wasn't the train wreck that I thought it was going to be at first. Then it took a few hours of thinking about it and I started seeing all of the plot holes, etc, and I started getting pissed. Like the absurdity of Lex's plan. Teh fact that Supes was lifting up a landmass full of Kryptonite when he was powerless standing on it minutes before. Teh fact that he had a piece of kryptonite in him. The fact that Richard was the hero of the movie. That Superman didn't have many lines. That it was really no fun. That they just stole pages of dialog from STM. All of the Christ references. I realized it was a train wreck. As far as the wanting to see it on IMAX, I did at that second, but the next day, after realizing it was a train wreck, I didn't want to see it again at all anymore.

he has a right to change his mind... don't criticize him for that.
