The adventures of the Lafayette Escadrille, young Americans who volunteered for the French military before the U.S. entered World War I, and became the country's first fighter pilots

I've always been a big fan of aviation. I had a stint where I wanted to be a commercial pilot, got sidetracked. At some point I'll pursue my private piolts license. Anyway,I love old military planes.

Could be good. Gotta check this out when it comes to Finland.

I'm actually looking forward to this flick, mainly because of the WWI dogfight sequences.

It's looks great, even if it does seem a tad unrealistic. But, I'll have to see the movie first to judge that.

Either way, I'm there. WWI film with striking visuals...and Jean Reno?:D

I think this movie looks real cool. Though, if this is a hit.... I hope WB would do a Enemy Ace or Blackhawks movie. It's the same plot really.

Though....every movie where James Franco is one of the main stars...besides Spiderman...never do well. He's like Box office poision or something. So I hope this one is a hit for him.

Something about the movie doesn't sit well with me. Maybe its just the trailer or something, I don't know. I also hate HATE the title. Maybe it looks like this is being aimed at the younger crowd? I need to watch the trailer again and see how I feel.

I love WWI stuff, but damn, James Franco just bothers the hell out of me.

The trailer is a bit cheesy but the flying scene's look spectacular and the story is an interesting one if they steer out of Pearl Harbour romance territory

Yeah, hunter is correct.

GED RID OF THE ROMANCE!

Other than that the film looks fantastic!

Can't wait, ever since I saw 'City by the Sea' I was a James Franco fan. Although, I'll admit- the navy academy/boxing film wasn't that good, not bad- but not great either.

I'll def check it out for the dogfights.

Although -I hate how it has all these "hunks" in it. And from the trailer - the acting looks like crap.

But I'll likely check it out.

God there's alot of boring movies coming out. Franco needs a better agent...like Ari Gold.

Great another movie for the flag waving Americans. If they were to do a movie about Biplanes in WW1 the most logical story would of been Billy Bishop.

The story and action look all fine and dandy, but the real appeal to this movie: Jean Reno.

This movie looks like garbage. They managed to cram every bad war movie cliche into a two mintue trailer. There's no way I'm sitting through the entire thing. And this pisses me off because I've always been fascinated with WW1.

Yeah, he's the only one a movie about biplanes should be about. :whatever: Well, after all, it is an American film. Tell your country to get off its ass and make its own movie. :woot:

Anyway, I'd love to see a modern movie about Manfred Von Richthofen, aka The Red Baron.

Hey read his biography and tell me he wasn't awesome. It would be a great mix of comedy at the start with insane action in the rest of it.

Plus, The Red Baron and Bishop faced off once, and both went home with their planes ripped to ****. Bishop kicked ass!

(And if a movie about him was done in Canada it could be a pice of **** CBC special)

I'd have no problem with a film like that. Even though I am American, I am familiar with Bishop. I just get sick and tired of people yelling about "flag waving" every time a war movie is made by Americans that just happens to be about Americans. If other countries are so angsty about it, stop watching American movies and make your own. I'll glady watch.

The thing is Canadian films don't go far enough to be seen by anyone but Canadians. And you have to agree some war films are ridicules. Look at "U-571" its spits on history just to make Americans look good. It drives me nuts. Same with how the Germans are presented in films set in WW2, they always seem to make them seem so in human and evil.
Also, on the topic of Billy Bishop, its not fair for me to say that a movie about WWI fighter aces should feature him. He was just my hero as a kid and a updated film about him would cause an unhealthy exsplosion in my pants....(no worries though, it would be covered by my health care)

I agree with you about U571. It was an insult to the Brits that actually discovered and decoded the Enigma devices initially. It is bad because most Americans don't know outside the scope of their own history, and barely know inside the scope. Ask any teenager what the importance of June 6th for example, and most won't know.

Well statistics wise, Americans are much better then Canadians when it comes to history. Most people I know arn't aware of who Billy Bishop is......he was born in my county...his home town is like a half hour away...
