Hoping to have luck in this fourm...

I'm a hobby artist and looking for a decent drawing tablet to use with Photoshop. I see them ranging on ebay from $10 to $100 dollars (dont want to pay $100!)

Can anyone reccommend a decent one for a hobbyist? It would be extremely helpful if you did a quick search on ebay or another site and posted a link saying something like "this one aint so bad" or whatever.

Any help appreciated! :cwink:

I have tried a couple of cheaper 'Trust' tablets and found they were not very good, ie; they are functional, but the tracking is where they often come up short and that's the most important thing for a tablet: you need a smooth 'true' action translating the pen motion direct to screen, but when the tracking is even slightly erratic it kind of defeats the purpose of using one.

Anyways, after having tried those cheaper models I took the plunge on a much more expensive Wacom model (Intuos 3) and have never regretted it: The difference in performance is well worth the money (for me at any rate).
You also dont need a big A4 tablet either, an A5 size one will suit just fine for most things.

Yeah. I had a Wacom Bamboo for awhile, I liked it but took it back because i want to get the Intuos and have the option of getting different pens for it. A new one is about 100. I know there is another company called Adesso that makes them but the research I did it looked like they had issues with Photoshop compatibility and just general quality.

You should look on craigslist in your area and see if you can find a second hand one. I've see some Graphire tablets listed on there for 60 -80.

If you're looking for something simple either the Graphire or Bamboo(which is the new Wacom replacing the Graphire brand)
