It kind of makes sense that the oldest brother would be the odd man out, though. Both of the other brothers are musically inclined, while he's only got a mind for the business. Lucious is bound to overlook him in the long-run.

The Obama part felt a bit much to me. I don't know what goes on with him behind closed doors, but with all the problems going on in the world, I have doubts that he would give much of a s*** about what some drunken kid who isn't even out of his teens says about him on a cell phone video.

THis show has me going through so many things.

I mean the absurd-ness and everything is just hysterical. Cookie in general, the whole random Obama rant, the BJ big, the lady grabbing Jamal's jewels. It's just so stupid that i have to laugh.

And on the other hand it's kinda sad. THere are 4 Oscar nominees involved in this and they are actually pretty talented people that deserve better than this.

I mainly checked this out because Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson both gave good performances in Hustle & Flow. Everything is a bit over-the-top but the casting and music are pretty good so I might keep watching to see where it goes. I think the family dynamic is interesting and I hope the parents don't actually manage to pit the younger brothers against each other.
