I'm sure we've all heard the phrase, either used personally, amongst said 'friends,' or actual friends telling us of real-life-friends with benefits.

A friend and I just had this conversation. She stated that she doesn't like the term, because of the implications it brings: wrongful titles, misunderstanding, *****e-y people whom judge or don't want to admit. . . whatever.

To point, what other trendy, witty, geeky, sci-fi-y, comic related terms can ANY of you come up with that could trump the infamous title?

For example, she said "friends with secret powers." I know - kind of nerdy - but I thought it clever and cute.

Your turn. Wow us.

I don't have friends with benefits, because they never stay friends. It's a good way to ruin a friendship.

Just long-term girlfriends and flighty one-night stands for me.

And "friends with benefits" as a term is fine. It's an appropriate description more or less. Maybe "friends who have sex with each other and then awkwardly pretend things are the same as they've always been" would be more accurate, but it's not quite as catchy.

it never works, you can't have sex with someone and not feel something for them. unless you are getting a hooker but then they aren't your friend and its just business.

So far, she is not a fan. She's waiting for 'email confirmation,' so she can post her replies.

My next toss in - pun intended - The Green Lantern
****p.

Awh ****!!

Step outside yourself and ask "what if Batman met Harley at a bar," and Batman wasn't Batman, and Harley wasn't Harley. . . . yet.

Real life is real.

Reminds me of my FWB. Both her and I are in relationships now, but when we are single it's pretty fun.

Well, I was friends with this girl who once said that we could be eff buddies once she was single...the day came that she was single and she trolled me. She knew that I have never had sex before, I was so pissed off at her because of what she did that I stopped being friends with her. To this day, I'm still not friends with her.

Kill.A.*****.

I think eff buddies is commonly a situation where one person has feelings and the other is just using them .

That's kinda funny, admit it.

But either way, my FWB has been a friend of mine for years. Since high school, and now we are 30 so it's been a while. Just kinda happened one night she had a whole bunch of people over to watch Star Wars (back when the initially released the whole thing on DVD). Everyone eventually left because they live in Brooklyn had had a long train ride.

All the friends eventually found out, not like we really attempted to hide anything. My gf of 4 years didn't even really mind that I had a longstanding relationship with one of my friends I hang out with every weekend. Maybe it keeps 'em in line knowing their replacement is right there in the living room on the couch. LOL

Maybe for you, but a lot of people can understand it's JUST sex and not feel like they are with a hooker.

I've had ****buddies, they're great. Sure you can get a crush on them, or grow to like them more as people, but it doesn't mean you will FALL IN LOVE and not be able to keep things casual. I'm not 12, i can actually handle my emotions without losing my mind.

Back when I was a boy and before I got my heart shattered, I use to believe the same thing. I refused to have sex with a person unless I had a connection present.

Now that I'm detached and cynical, I really don't give a damn. A piece of meat is all any sexual partner means to me. It may sound piggish and cruel but it's for her benefit.

To me, sex is just sex, and nothing more. It's business as usual.
