Fright Night remake

I have a feeling this iwll be great, despite what people say. There are worse looking remakes out there even though I give every remake a chance.

haha I love that pic, he looks like he definately does not want to be there.

Well with this coming out in August that means there'll be a reason for me to go to the movies that month. It's a pretty packed summer and that's getting rare these days. I had one to see in May, three in June, two in July and now one in August. Heh, last year for me the movie summer started at the begining of May and was over by the middle of that month with a long wait until the winter holidays ahead.

What's everyone thinking this'll do box office-wise? I know it only cost $17M so turning a profit should be a breeze but what's everyone else think?

A friend of mine got pulled into one of those secret screenings that they do at movie theaters for Fright Night, she says she really liked it. She's usually hard to please when it comes to movies. Though she hasn't seen the original....and her favorite vampires are of the Twilight variety. :o

^ There's liek 4 or 5 films i'm seeing in June alone, lol.

All I know of in June that's caught my eye are XM:FC, Super 8 and GL.

Super 8 and Fright Night are the only non-comic book films I think I'll be seeing this summer.

I saw a podcast yesterday from some guy in a roundtable discussion with some others on footage from upcoming movies they saw(geek press types, these folks were) and he said at cinemacon they showed about 20 minutes of Fright Night(the section where he's digging up their yard w/ the shovel) and he said he loved how it was looking. He's also the guy who said the Thor footage was the best he saw at the con(he ranked Super8's footage second and Fright Night's third among the best stuff he saw). He said he's never seen the original.

I believe the podcast was called ForYourConsideration or something like that.

This doesnt look that good, but Farrell looks like he'll give a good or at least fun performance.

I'll wait for DVD

Awesome clip! Farell seems to have brought his own thing to the role, which is a good thing when it comes to remakes.

I wonder why he keeps looking around. Maybe seeing it in context will answer that question. Otherwise...cool clip.

He's probably looking around to make sure nobody is around to hear the conversation, he's messing with Charlie (probably first encounter after Jerry realizes Charlie knows and sent the cops over).

I have this theory that there are no truly perfect movies in existence. Some get as close as I've ever seen(like the original Jaws) but all have SOME flaw to them.

But my theory isn't so much that last statement since very few would disagree with the idea that no film is perfect. My theory is that some scenes in movie CAN attain virtual perfection. They usually don't last very long and are far and few between. They almost always involve what you're seeing and hearing working in such harmonious concert that it's kismet. They can even be encapsulated in a movie that on the whole isn't even good and leave you wondering how such a great scene could wind up in such a crappy movie. But the scene itself is for all practical purposes...flawless. And it's not just limited to movies. I've seen it happen in TV shows as well.

The short scene in the film that accompanies and largely benefits from that bit of the score that you just posted IMO is one of those perfect scenes. I could literally watch it over and over, it's just so good.

Just saw a new commercial featuring Tennant telling Charlie that "he's gonna need an army."

There's TV spots?!! Dammit I wanna see!
