Fright Night remake

Also this Evil Ed was much better than the original. I couldn't stand that other kid.

New kid doesn't touch the original. Not even close. Easily the worst part of the translation from the original.

Yeah well , you know , that's just like , your opinion , man.

I'm curious to see how Shark Night does, especially with it being PG-13. That doesn't bother me too much since Jaws was PG, but still.

Yeah it might do ok with teenagers going to see it. I thought it just looks like Piranha 3d without the fun.

He was one of the best parts of the original. They just couldn't replace him.

He turned a somewhat minor, easily forgettable role into an integral part of why the movie was so good with the way he did it.

Add me to the list of guys who thinks the original Evil Ed was one of the best parts of the original Fright Night. Hilarious and creepy at the same time

It's simple why...

A) Kids dont know this is a remake. They think it's a rip off of Disturbia. (HHAHA ****ING MORONS!)

I despise such thoughts. It's the adults responsibility to pass down knowledge. Not just for movies, but EVERYTHING. Would you believe I spoke to a girl last week (she was 16 years old) and she loves the Transformers films but had no idea there was a cartoon in the 80's? I was shocked! She was just as shocked, though, to learn of the 80's cartoon and how popular it was. She later just shrugged her shoulders and said "Well, it's not like my mom or dad ever talked about it".

And she's absolutely right. If kids are unaware of certain things that seem to big to miss, the generation before them aren't doing a good job of passing the torch. Shame on THEM. :whatever:

I couldn't care any less for this flick, though. I wish it made more money, it sucks it tanked, but needless to say, I wasn't very interested in this remake.

As far as interest goes, does anyone even think for a minute that maybe the original just isn't cared for much anyway? I understand fully the popularity it had, and how we've all grown up with it, yada yada yada. But maybe ppl just grew out of that, have moved on, and just couldn't give a rats ass about the original anymore to go see this one.

It didn't completely tank, it went up against like 4 other movies. I remember the movie theater employee was telling me Thursday night that they had to split movies in each theater just to fit all the movies they were gonna get the next day.

No.

Well what if you feel the opposite way... if you really dig the original you might not want to even see the remake? It's likely to be inferior.

Nope. I just watched the original for the first time, and I was so impressed by it. Didnt grow up with it. I'm 19 now, so make of it what you will.

I agree... the original is still a great movie. It's got a certain charm. Especially the late Roddy McDowall as Vincent... for me that performance can't be beat.

You feel empathy. And I love Chris Saradon as Jerry. He gave him such character. He gave Charlie a chance to walk away....but he didnt.

Colin Ferrell owned this movie. I had such a good time seeing it, I'm planning on watching it two more times with some other friends! :D

You guys should definitely see it.

So what you're saying is that this remake is a perfect movie. Without flaws.

That's not how I judge movies. I judge them on how much I liked them, and I can't think of a recent movie I've seen in theaters that I enjoyed more, and I see a lot of movies in theaters.

Pacing was a bit too slow at times, Evil Ed was a bit too over the top, and the CG could have been a bit better, but all of that didn't ruin the movie for me. Not at all. Plus, Colin Farrell and David Tennant made up for any mistakes.

That's sort of a rose-tinted way of looking at something. If you say it's a 10/10 then to you it's got to be perfect as you can't go higher than 10.... but yet you find fault in the FX and the pacing... so basically your scoring is meaningless, or you could be true to yourself and lower it. Let's be realistic here Elite! G'wan now. Lower it. Do it. Do it. :cwink:

Why do you have to do this to me, Ponyboy? Why? It's 4:45AM here. :(

But yeah, I suppose you're right. The score is meaningless, so instead of lowering the score, I'll take it away entirely. :D

ROFL... just havin a laugh with ya mate. Based on what you said about the pacing and everything else I think realistically you'd haveta give it an 8. Sleep on it and then re-rate tomorrow. :cwink:

I agree. Parents dont teach their children about our culture. It's going to erase the past from existance.

But I totally love the Transformers flicks, but dispise the 80's show.

Not because they're bad...but how the fans creeped me out, and pissed me off to a point where I now have zero intrest in ever watching them.

Then again, I had zero intrest when I was a kid...Beast Wars was my ****.

I also rate movies on how much I love them.

Drive Angry gets a 9/10

Rise of the Apes gets a 9/10.

Which is the better film? You know the right answer.

Transformers and Dark of the Moon get a 10/10 because they did exactly what they needed to do for me, and i enjoyed them a **** ton.

I also give Alien/Aliens a 10/10. Now...which films are the better pair? Muahaha!
