Fright Night remake

I watched it, and really liked it. It would be a guilty pleasure, but I feel no guilt in liking this.

I loved the original. This one not so much.

Evil Ed was FAR superior in the original as was Roddy McDowell as Peter Vincent.

The pacing in the update was off and many of the characters really didn't have a lot to do. You have Toni Colette and David Tennent and you don't find a way to use them effectively? That's just sad.

I enjoyed the Chris Sarandon cameo.

nnnooOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Direct-to-DVD?! A stand-alone story?! WTF?!

I love the original two, but I really dislike the remake. Although the chick in the remake is a lot hotter. I don't think the remake was good at all though. I didn't like the writing. Was it trying to be a hip, fresh script? To me, it failed hard in that regard. I also don't think the actors who played Charlie, and Evil Ed were right for the parts.

Now with that out of the way, a direct to dvd sequel might be better then the remake. Nah, probably not, lol. I still need to try to find Fright Night part 2 on dvd. They should release a two pack with the original two.

I absolutely loved the remake. Don't get the hate.

I liked the remake, too. The sequel sounds terrible already. Not that the 80s sequel was great or anything.

Hopefully this straight to DVD/Blu ray will prompt the Blu ray release of Fright Night 2 on blu ray.

Love the original, like the sequel, thought the remake was quite good. Not sure how this DTV will be.

Maybe they'll finally put "come to me/dream window" theme music in there.

Or just wait until someone buys the keychain and uploads it to youtube

Somebody uploaded the USB trailer finally:

It is amusing, though: the sequel to the original film underwent a similar path, if I recall correctly. Sadly, I will watch it, even though it reminds me of 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, another d-t-v sequel...

I'll be watching it too, on Netflix.

Fright Night II had a rollerblading vampire with tina turner hair and a vampire bowling scene. i saw nothing that awesome in the remake sequel.

Fright Night II went with Jerry's sister, but otherwise it was a straight sequel, and honestly, a decent one. It wasn't the level of the first, but really, I thought it was a pretty good follow up. Just having Charlie and Peter Vincent back was good enough. Also rollerblading vampire/werewolf.

....why even call this Fright Night 2? LOL it's basically a remake of the remake. Weird.
