Remember when FX aired the so-called extended cut that was only like three short scenes? Well, I was watching Spidey 2 on FX right now and it was the 2.1 version! :cmad:

You could've watched it when they first aired the 2.1 version.:o
But they played SM2 as well yesterday, I didn't watch it all but I don't think it was the 2.1 version.

This was though. It had all the cool new scenes. Why couldn't have FX aired the real 2.1 a bunch of months ago? :cmad:

FX doesn't show the theatrical SM2 anymore, they've replaced it with 2.1 completely. So if you missed it, you can just wait for them to show it again (they do it at least once a month, on average).

Just know that when they advertise "Spider-Man 2" they're really showing 2.1, regardless of whether or not they call it that.

heh. do you guys remember the first time FX showed their so-called 'sam raimi cut'? it barely had the 2.1 stuff in it and was more of a giant advertising thing for 'dirt'.

Thats what I'm talking about! A bunch of months ago that was the "extended cut" they aired. But today I saw that they aired the real 2.1 version.

didn't notice how much my post was similar to Catman's first.:o

I still haven't seen 2.1 (Well, I have, but only while being distracted with somethine else.). I don't remember see the extended cut, but I probably "saw" it without knowing it (I always keep FX on in the background.). I believe the 2.1 version replaced their airings of Spider-man 2, as another poster pointed out.

I like the regular SM2 a tad more though. At least it lives in my DVD collection still.

The picture quality is wierd on the 2.1 DVD. The movie looks orange or something in most scenes. That put me off re-watching it.

I usually just watch the regular cut DVD, now.

I tried recording 2.1 once & it got the same way for me so I just stopped it. It was weird.

They have been playing 2.1 for the last 2 weeks now on FX. I'm sure it will be on again.
