According to gamedaily, this is how the consoles stack up...

• PS3: B+
• XBox 360: A
• Wii: A-
• DS Lite: A
• PSP: B
• XBox: D
• GameCube: C
• PS2: B+

I agree with it apart from the PS2 and PSp scores. I would give PS2 an A and the PSP gets a D.

My thoughts:

• PS3: B+- Hardly surprising, but I'd expect this to get at least an A-, not being a fan boy and dissagreeing, just wondering if that's a little bit bias?
• XBox 360: A- Yeah looks to be, despite the few nags (like BC) which is probably what put this short of the A+
• Wii: A-- Hmm, well I guess so, still would have thought that people'd think this is the best outta the bunch what with the whole thinking outside the box
• DS Lite: A- Ugh, I can't stand the DS (I'm not fan boy, I love Ninty, have a GC), horrible piece of work. Lower that score imo.
• PSP: B- Give it a few more days, when Portable OPS, what will undoubtedly be the best handheld game in a long time (if not forever) and we could be finding this score rising.
• XBox: D- Bit harsh... or is that cause the 360's out now? I guess so.
• GameCube: C- Oh come now. GC is a brilliant console, I suppose its lowered cause of the up and coming Wii.... hehehe
• PS2: B+- What bugs me is its the same grade as the PS3, which doesn't make sense because ultimately, the PS3, no matter how sucky its sounding, will be a better console than the PS2, though maybe not as good as the Wii and the 360.

After reading the first page of it, I can see why those systems got the scores. Its judging them based on the holiday season. PS3 got the same score as the PS2, and lower than Wii and 360 bc of its price. Thats a big chunk of change to drop and there arent any really big games yet to justify the cost. It does have alot of future potential and some bigger names next year. Not only is the PS2 cheap, has a large library, but it still has several huge games being released, FF12 recently and soon Smackdown vs Raw 2007, GoW2, Tony Hawk 8. It has life and a good deal for what its offering

XBox got a D bc its pretty much a dead system. Not much coming out of there and Microsoft has shifted its focus to the 360

They can't really rate Wii, PS3, or even 360 against the older consoles. We can see how the lives of the older consoles have panned out. The Wii and PS3 should be given a year or so after release to see how things work out.

The Wii in particularly, is a console I think needs to be played extensively before judged given how unique it is. It's not going to wash with everyone.
