Gamers damaging their tv screens by flinging their Wii-motes

So, it's THEIR fault that NINTENDO didn't make a strap that can handle what they show in their own commercials?

I love this. If anyone has a problem with Nintendo's products being poorly made, it must somehow be their own fault. Because we all know, it's IMPOSSIBLE that Nintendo could have released a product without testing it enough, right? :o

No, its the customers fault. Nintendo does warn them that if you swing the controller too violently then the strap might break. And yes the strap can handle what they show in their own commericals.

Ever hear the phrase "accidents may happen?" Nintendo has no way of specifying HOW hard is too hard. They should have just made a better strap, but obviously that would have meant less profit, and we all know Nintendo can't have that.

Well if you have any common sense at all ( which I'm guessing you don't since this is bothering you so much ) then logic dictates that you shouldn't swing the Wiimote like Barry Bonds trying to hit a fast ball. Oh and you probably shouldn't let go of the Wiimote at the end of the swing either.

If it is that much of a problem to hold onto their controllers, they should just invest in some remote gloves.:whatever:

Step 1: Grab the Wiimote
Step 2: Don't throw it at your TV.

If you can follow these two simple rules, your golden.

Step 3: Don't sweat

Step 4: have a stronger strap

Step 5: Coat your TV screen with bullet proof lexan plastic

How are people even putting stress on that small string?? I played alot so far and have never been in a position where the string was under stress. Are people like holding the strap and twirling the remote?

Use your hands, it's not that difficult.

They're probably letting go of the Wiimote when they hit the peak of their swing. :o :whatever:

Man this must be eatting you up inside. Were you one of the people stupid enough to let go of their Wiimote? :whatever:

For people that drive cars, play baseball or tennis in the real world, how is it they can hold onto those things, but not the wii-mote? I played the wii sports thing, and I have no idea how you can let that thing go. I still know it's a valuable piece of electronic hardware.

So.. in what commercial did you see a remote leave a person's hand? I know i havn't seen one. A fork could stab someone if you pointed it at something and it slips from your hand. Should the company who makes the fork pay the medical bills for that?

The commercials show people swinging the controller around like a baseball bat, golf club, bowling ball, and what have you. Is it really unfair that customers would assume that that's how they're supposed to use it too?

In no comercial did I see anyone throw the remote. Yes you can use it like a golf club or a bowling ball by doing the motions you'd normally do, but you don't let go at the end. It's completely rediculous that the company be at any fault for this.

That is how you make the games fun. Where in the commercials do they say you should let go as you swing?:whatever:

They are not swinging it with the same amount of strength like a real baseball player or golfer. If anyone does that, they are idiots. It is the consumer's fault for being stupid and misusing the Wiimote.

even still... how many people let the baseball bat, golf club, or tennis racket go flying out of their hand all the time?

These people are just stupid.

Straps are FINE! I played Baseball for as long as I can remember, and when I play Wii baseball I can't help but swing my bat at full force. Guess what? I don't let go, nor does my strap break and go flying.

People are special.
