There seem to be a lot of threads dealing with the supernatural popping up lately. So I'm curious: whether or not you believe in the supernatura, which myth, legend, or folktale is your favorite, and why?

I'll kick it off with mine: the black dog.

The accounts and descriptions of this entity which commonly feature the elements of a weed-chocked road that may or may not run by a graveyeard in which the traveler sees the dog standing in the road. Most of the time they try to edge their way around the dog and keep on going only to hear the beast padding along behind them. Then there's the cemetary sightings and accounts of this creature appearing in a person's bedroom and staring at them as they pass by before disappearing. So many things in the legend of this entity make it quite frightening and fun to tell stories about, in my opinion.

So let's hear some of yours.

My favorite mythological beast is the dragon, and has ever since Braveheart. I remember I gave a presentation on dragons in 7th grade and one kid asked me "So, do you believe in dragons?" And I couldn't say no. I guess I still believe in dragons, i just can't say why. I have heard that in Japan there is still a belief in dragons, and if a group of people believe in something, I guess that makes it true.

I like dragons because they are so strong and beautiful, and according to the eastern tradition, wise as well. Plus, almost every culture has the dragon, so it must be a cool creature.

I'm a big fan of dragons. It would be cool to find out they existed . Their presence in so many cultures makes me wonder sometimes .

in grade 6 our teacher told us this story about this girl who was feral, and only at cat food. she was found in her parents attic and taken to an insane asylum. shenanigans ensue.

If I saw any dog regardless of the color in my bedroom I would freak out.
