GC 2006: SEGA Reveals Leipzig Line-up
Monkey Ball is there and so is Sonic -- with a new name.
by IGN UK Staff

UK, August 17, 2006 - Fresh out of the PR cannon this morning, SEGA has fired off its full line-up for next week's Leipzig Games Convention. Alongside notable mentions Medieval II: Total War, Virtual Tennis 3 and Yakuza, there's also final name confirmation for the game previously known as Sonic Wild Fire - ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Sonic and the Secret Rings!

Further highlights include floor-showings for Sonic the Hedgehog on Xbox 360 and PS3, next-gen iterations of SEGA Rally and the company's Phantasy Star-based MMORPG, Phantasy Star Universe. Readers may also notice that the Wii incarnation of Sonic will be on-hand, too, and it's got a new name: Sonic and the Secret Rings.

SEGA's full Leipzig line-up is listed below, and we'll have more on each and every one of the little buggers as the show kicks off early next week.

Charlotte's Web (DS, GBA, PC)
Full Auto 2: Battlelines (PS3)
Phantasy Star Universe (PC, PS2, Xbox 360)
Medieval II: Total War (PC)
SEGA Rally Revo (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii)
Sonic Rivals (PSP)
Sonic The Hedgehog (PS3, Xbox 360)
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (Wii)
Virtua Tennis 3 (PS3, Xbox 360)
Yakuza (PS2)

The covention in Leipzing, Germany on August 23 will also reveal 5 new launch titles for the Wii, all believed to be first party titles by Nintendo.

I hope Sega kicks up some Wii development. Sega has some of the best first party characters in the market, and I would love to see them show up on the Wii.

*Cough*NewEccoTheDolphin*Cough*:O

Its a pitty SEGA RALLY wont be making it to the Wii in some form :(

I'm just hoping, because Sega has given Nintendo alot of support in the past for the Gamecube....so hopefully most of their major franchises end up making their way to the Wii in some form.
