Gen 13 reboot released Oct. 11

Yeah, that's actually the one Worldstorm comic I'm not buying. I'd feel dirty if I did solely because of Talent Caldwell's involvement. Add to that the fact that now Simone's dialogue is beginning to annoy me and I'm steering well clear of it.

It's nice to see that the Worldstorm books are finally going to start coming out, though. Majestic and Captain Atom: Armageddon ended, what, about 3 and 2 months ago, respectively? I need my Wildstorm fix again. :(

Gail Simone? Gen13? Man, the Lesbian Subtext thread's going to get alot more material pretty soon. :woot:

I'm looking forward to it, just as I am all the WorldStorm stuff.

The preview makes it look like Gail is at least sticking to the original character concepts. I'm a little on the fence, but I'm probably not picking this up. Gen13 wore out it's welcome a few years back.

I wish I had the money to actually pick some of this Wildstorm stuff up. :(

Oh well, torrents here I come. :o

EDIT: Eh, I'll buy WildCATS. Mainly cause it's Lee and Morrison. And will probably end up being a bi-yearly. :o

What they really need to do is chain J. Scott Campbell to a desk, hand him a pen and paper, and tell him all right Johnny boy, it's Gen13 or the lash.

And then take all that and mail it back to 1996, when I still gave a ****.

And **** the Adam Warren version. There I said it.

From Grant Morrison's fingertips flow naught but the purest of awesome, everyone knows this.

r they going to have a purpose this time?

I dearly hope not, I can think of nothing more antithetical to their existence.

I mean it's like asking "is Friends going to have a purpose?" It just doesn't work.

I'll have to take a look at it. I liked what I saw of Gen 13 in the 90's except oddly enough for the Anime Style stuff that was done by by the artist/writerwanna be who did the ugly Version of dirty pair with the oversized lips and the and wacky hair.

That was Adam Warren. His version of Gen13 was pretty cool from time to time, but was mostly a suckfest.

Really couldn't stand his version of the Dirty Pair. When he took over the writing everything was just a bad over the top anime parody.

I'll be picking this one up to see what it's all about. I really liked Simone's writing in Villains United and dug Caldwell's one issue he did on Spectacular Spider-Man, the Thing poker issue.

Plus I was into Gen 13 back in the day. Yes, I was a dumb teenaged kid who dug the book because of the great T and A. :oldrazz:

But, this better have a good story!

And the T and A

I might pick this up like I am F13th,wildcats,and deathblow. Hopefully they will be better than wetworks which was crap.

So what did everyone think of the first issue?

I thought it was an interesting start to everything. I haven't read this book since it was under Image, so I don't know if Simone is going off of recent past continuity or not. But definitely had me confused at first. I'll stick around to see what the next issue holds.

Yeah, the Wildstorm U got restarted at the end of that Captain Atom mini. Anything goes at this point.

Anything goes, but if the Worldstorm one-shot's bios are any indication, a lot of pre-Worldstorm continuity will still be intact. The Wildcats, for example, seem virtually unchanged.

Gen-13 being a part of Wildstorm proper seems new. I thought that, and the rest of Cliffhanger, were set apart.

Gen13 was never part of Cliffhanger. J. Scott Campbell's Cliffhanger title was Danger Girl. Gen13's always been part of the Wildstorm universe. Lots of other Wildstorm characters have ties to the Gen13 characters, too.
