George Clooney will topline, and his Smoke House partner Grant Heslov will direct, Men Who Stare at Goats.

Variety says the film is an adaptation of British journalist Jon Ronson's book about the U.S. Army's First Earth Battalion, a unit that was to use paranormal powers.

The title refers to the notion that one can kill a goat by staring at it.

The script was written by Peter Straughan (How to Lose Friends & Alienate People).

Heh, well Clooney likes to diversify and you've gotta give him credit for that, it'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

Mustache-rocking George Clooney buttons up his army outfit as he heads to the set of his new movie, Men Who Stare at Goats, in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday.

The movie is based on a 2004 book about alleged U.S. military efforts to develop paranormal powers for American soldiers. Clooney, 47, plays a U.S. soldier who fights the enemy using ancient Chinese mind techniques. Co-stars Ewan McGregor and Kevin Spacey also will be filming in the central Puerto Rican town of Comerio.

Didn't know McGregor and Spacey were in this...

George looks weird :oldrazz: but seems an intriguing movie... i'm keeping my eye on this one :woot:

Sounds like a great premise and Clooney is always fun to watch. Count me in

I just hope Ewan doesn't attempt an American accent again in this, because he sucks at it.

Stephen Lang, The Dude, and Rebecca Mader?

Win, Occasional Win, and Mmmmmmmmm...

Count me in.

I saw the trailer on ET last night, and i couldnt stop laughing. I'll be checking this one out for sure :woot:

I haven't laughed that hard at a trailer in years. This movie looks awesome, especially Clooney, Spacey and Bridges.

Damn though, Ewan, hire a f**king voice coach or else stop trying to plan an American!

I would love to see the trailer, but I'll wait until it comes on Yahoo or youtube. Why does Apple have to make it stressful to download trailers?
