Are there any things you see these days that just make you feel like you're getting older?

yes, when people repeat threads from the week before

I watched Bob Costas today and you can see how he's aged and it made me sad. :csad:

when I hear athletes who are my age being referred to as "towards the end of their careers."

i'm about to start my seventh year of university, freshers make me feel old, especially considering the new batch would have been 11 when i first went to uni...

:(

It makes me feel old when everyone I graduated high school with either has a kid, is married, or both.

when an 8 year old turns to you and says, and i quote, "who the ****ing hell is indiana jones?"

:csad:

The one consolation is that when you get older, the younger girls will start to gravitate towards you more. Not illegal young, but...young enough.

I would slap that kid's face, why and who's letting an 8 year old run around saying swear words in public?

swearing's fine. But not knowing who ****ing indiana jones is, while probably being able to name every pokemon is just ****ing sad, it should be a crime.

It is then that I grab a bottle of Palmolive, fill the kid's mouth with it, then blast his nasty mouth with a firehose. No cursing kids on my watch.

what about all the millions of people who don't know and really couldn't care less who Indiana Jones is?

remember, if an 8 year old doesn't know who Indiana Jones is, might be mostly because HE MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN BORN WHEN THE MOVIES CAME OUT

it's really not their fault, is it?

When things I love as kid as now "retro".

But I knew about Grease and Sat.Night Fever when I was 8.

yeah, indy's a popculture icon. you'd have to be one of those snobby anti-popculture types not to have any idea who he is on some level.

As a matter of fact, I wasn't born when indy came out either. I wasn't born for a lot of things I learned about later through general interaction at school and stuff. The kid must be homeschooled or something.

still, the chances of an eight year old of knowing who Indy is, are slimmer
