Action-Adventure Ghost of Tsushima’ Movie in the works

Hopefully the story and characters aren't as boring here as they are in the game.
Story concept is more movie like than video game like. Story doesnt really give you much choices for choosing how you play your character. Basically your actions you do in game dont speak how story progress. It has 3 defined acts. Gameplay was good. And game and cinematography itself was clearly inspired by movies of old.

I read somewhere earlier in year that for role of Ghost if there is live action will be played by same actor from video game. But this is Hollywood, so white actor is must in Japanese setting. And black main side character in Yuna.

Isn't it a bit presumptious to be talking about starting production during an industry-wide work stoppage?

It would be entirely unsurprising, but I wouldn't be against it.

Same old Hollywood. They'll just copy what they think made Shogun successful and add some more action to it.

Umm, you do know that Stahelski worked with Sanada on John Wick 4 right? Just because they are looking to cast one of the highest profile Japanese actors currently working in Hollywood in the film doesn't mean they are just trying to to ape Shogun.

Uh huh, and which is scenario is more likely to you?

Well, considering that this movie has been in development for a long time before Shogun's recent success, I don't think this is an example of a studio just trying to ape the new big thing. Also, Sanada has been Hollywood's go-to casting for mature Japanese badasses for years now, just like Watanabe before him.

If you want to talk about sketchy Hollywood practices, Hollywood's pattern of casting the same POC actor after they have a breakout role, rather than seeing that as audience acceptance of diverse casting is probably more applicable.

Sanada has been a go to samurai since forever. Using your logic, Shogun ripped off John Wick, which ripped off Westworld, which ripped off 47 Ronin, which ripped off The Wolverine, which ripped of The Last Samurai, which ripped off The Twilight Samurai, etc.

True, can't disagree. I'm jumping the gun a bit.

You're right, this production hasn't shown it's going down that route yet.
