Ghost of Tsushima was a 7/10 for me, and I wasn't that impressed.

I like a lot of aspects of the first game. The swordplay, especially in duels, the art design, how alive the landscape feels. But I fundamentally did not enjoy the characters, story, or the incredibly repetitive gameplay loop. This looks so much better in all those regards. Might finally live up to the initial hype.

I’m done buying games at 70 anyways so wasn’t getting it, but have no interest in a female samurai. It would be like playing a WW2 game as a female soldier. I do like female characters like aloy and Lara Croft not this just doesn’t do it for me

Just so I'm clear, a woman fighting a bunch of robots in a apocalyptic future doesn't take you out. But a woman warrior, which we know existed, does?

The game is terrific by the way. Such a step up from the first in terms of character, story, and gameplay.

I much prefer the different weapons to the stances in the first. The world itself feels more alive. Where the first built a lot of it's gameplay around liberating forts, this game has a lot more variety. I don't feel like I know what is around each corner. I also really like the missions to learn the weapons and the bounties.

Atsu is brilliant. So much more character and emotion. I care about her in a way I never did Jin.
