Based on their successful and sell-out stage play of the same name, horror anthology and ghost story fans Andy Nyman (Severance) and Jeremy Dyson (¼ of The League of Gentlemen) have recently dropped their trailer to the up and coming film adaptation.
Due to open 13th April (a Friday!).

Nice to see this getting some good reviews.

It does seem to reflect that the film could be more of an MR James style and sense of building up atmosphere, mystery and story telling rather than, as you say the modern trope of horror films of ticking off the number of jump scares because it would be fun to do it here as we haven't had one since five minutes ago. Which is good news for me as I much prefer the MR James style of writing and pacing.
Actually, there's a quick glimpse of a James-type manifestation with the bed sheet rising in the cot, very 'Oh, Whistle, And I'll Come To You, My Lad'.
These guys grew up on this sort of stuff, reading them and watching the annual A Ghost Story for Christmas short films on the BBC during the 1970s, so they're extremely tapped into the genre.
I'll be going to watch it this weekend.

This seems promising, especially since we haven't had a good horror anthology since Trick R Treat. The VHS series was awful and the less said about the ABCS of Death, the better.
