With the Palladinos back on board, I am very much here for this. I've always wanted to see how they'd end it.
I wouldn't mind since we could get a proper ending. But can I get a Charmed mini series instead?
Oh but yes. Esp when Shannen Doherty wants to do one. Leave Brad Kern out of it though.
OMG, I forgot about Sookie until this moment. I would LOVE to see McCarthy back in that role. It would be a refreshing change of pace for her at this point.
And yes, Edward Hermann/Richard will be sorely missed.![]()
My thoughts regarding this have been so caught up in A.) sheer amazement that it's happening and B.) being sad that Edward Hermann has passed and inevitably, so has Richard, that I haven't even considered whether or not they'll be able to wrangle Melissa McCarthy for this.
It being Netlix gives me hope. If they could land Bradley Cooper for the Wet Hot American Summer show, they can get her for this.
Gilmore Girls Revival: Netflix Boss Teases Upcoming 'Announcement'
By Michael Ausiello
Netflix is breaking its silence about that in-the-works Gilmore Girls revival.
At the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena on Sunday, the streaming giant’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos updated reporters on the voraciously anticipated project, “I can’t tell you much about Gilmore Girls,” he said. “We’re still working on buttoning down everything before our announcements.”
Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino (AKA Team Palladino) will write and direct the entire revival, which will consist of four 90-minute episodes/mini-movies. As TVLine exclusive revealed, each episode will represent a different season over the course of one calendar year. In other words, there will be a fall chapter, a winter chapter, a spring chapter and a summer chapter. The revival will be set in the present day, or roughly eight years after the series ended.
Negotiations with the show’s primary cast — Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson — continue.
Gilmore Girls Revival Officially a Go at Netflix; Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and More Returning
By Michael Ausiello
Netflix has officially booked its trip back to Stars Hollow.
The streaming service on Friday at long last confirmed that it is resurrecting Gilmore Girls, with series stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop signed on to reprise their respective roles as Lorelai, Rory, Luke and Emily.
Other returning vets include Sean Gunn (Kirk) and Keiko Agena (Lane).
TVLine, meanwhile, has learned that the four-part revival — tentatively titled Gilmore Girls: Seasons — begins filming Feb. 2 in Los Angeles.
Gilmore creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer producer Daniel Palladino will write and direct all of Seasons, which will consist of four 90-minute installments. As TVLine exclusively revealed, each installment will represent a different season (winter, spring, etc.) over the course of one calendar year. Seasons is set in the present day, approximately eight years after Gilmore Girls reached its too-soon conclusion on The CW.
