Set in a fantasy world that's heavily inspired by tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons and Dragons down to the rules, races, and magic. The main character is an adventurer who has dedicated his life to only hunting goblins.

Goblins are seen as the weakest, lowest level of monster. Adventurers don't like the quests because they don't pay as well and there's little glory and recognition. Goblins are generally about as weak and small as children, but their cruelty and vicious nature are limitless, so they are still very dangerous if you're not careful. Goblin Slayer has basically spent five years grinding and farming goblins to become a silver level adventurer (third below gold and platinum).

Animation studio is White Fox (RE:Zero, Stein's Gate). Here is the voice cast:

[YT]Goblin Slayer - Yuichiro Umehara (Goro in DARLING in the FRANKXX)

Priestess - Yui Ogura (Miku in Twin Star Exorcists)

High Elf Archer - Nao T?yama (Chitoge in Nisekoi)

Cow Girl - Yuka Iguchi (Index in A Certain Magical Index)

Guild Girl - Maaya Uchida (Hajime in Gatchaman Crowds)

Dwarf Shaman - Y?ichi Nakamura (Gray in Fairy Tail)

Lizard Priest - Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki in Gintama)

Witch - Y?ko Hikasa (Mio in K-ON!)

Spearman - Yo****sugu Matsuoka (S?ma in Food Wars!)[/YT]

Animation pairs surprisingly well with DOOM 2016 music and voice-over. A lot of Goblin Slayer fans enjoy the parallels between Goblin Slayer and DOOM GUY.

Official synopsis:

A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It's the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue--a man who's dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there's no telling who might come calling next...

I enjoy this story for its unique protagonist. He's sort of like a fantasy mix of Batman and The Punisher. Trauma from his past made him into a socially broken individual. He's very fixated and obsessed about hunting goblins, but he's still a good guy. Like Batman he's meticulous with his strategy and his planning. He also carries a lot of tools in his pouch. He will tend to have some sort of solution or strategy to come out of any jam.

For example:

When he and his new adventurer party are forced into a fight with a giant ogre, Goblin Slayer uses a magic scroll that unleashes a wave from the bottom of the ocean. He had planned on using it to drown a goblin nest, but he ended up having to use it to kill an ogre instead. Needless to say, Goblin Slayer was disappointed he had to waste a magic scroll on an ogre.
