Have you ever had something go away and found that you miss it (even though you didn't pay much attention to it while it was around)?

The other day I was roaming the net on a computer that was at a location other than work (usually I use my work computer). I decided to go to a site that's blocked by work (because it does automatic downloads)...

The site www.popcap.com\psychobabble - a multiplayer game that allows users to chat while forming sentences out of random words.

I hadn't been on the site for about 2 years (or more). Imagine my disappointment and surprise to find that psychobabble is GONE! :wow:

:cmad: popcap decided that it wasn't bringing in enough advertising revenue and discontinued the site.

I truly enjoyed that game.

:) yeah, Paladin is definitely Gone but not Forgotten.

Nice to see you again too Spider-Fett

erm, being 35 years old I could list about 3,000 things.

Huge one is a small diner in Utah that was called Bill and Nada's. It had been there since the depression and since it was the only place that was open all night, it was an insane mix of truckers, old people, Goth kids and Rockers who had just played a show.

Each booth had an old style mini-jukebox with Patsy Cline and Glen Miller on it, and they had a huge wheel they'd spin every hour and if it hit the number of your booth, your meal was free.

Bill, the owner, was a cranky-as-f*** dude who lived across the street and had been shot 4 times by the husband of a chick he was screwing.

Pretty much every hipster was dumb-founded that no rich person stepped up to save the beloved place after Bill died.

50 billion memories of being there with many different girlfriends over the years....going there and getting stressed 'cause an ex was sitting in another booth with some ass****.....

going there when poor 'cause the waitress had a crush on our friend and would give us all free food, going there when rich and staying all night....going there completely wasted, hitting on old ladies in fake fur coats.....going there hungover after wild parties.....

One night I went around to every person in the place and had them draw their rendition of the band Kiss on the back of placemats

It is gone.

The Original BUMP thread... anyone else remember it?

Where BUMPs were done with style and class. There were BUMPs made of flaming letters. There were BUMPs that were substituted in the key lyrics of songs. There were movie quotes with a BUMP substituted for the key word. There were modified pictures with BUMP in the picture itself...

See? I could learn to live with that. It annoys the piss out of me when I see a thread, and the only thing is "bump". If that's all you have to say about the topic, then apparently, it's really not worth bringing back, is it?

Lionel Richie, Elton John, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen ... yeah I know they're still trying to make careers... but honestly they are GONE!

Bump :oldrazz:

Seriously though, I could list about 3,000 things I miss but never thought about. Like those little cookies they used to make that came in red packs of three and they had like a hershey kiss thing in the center. Anyone remember those? I miss them like crazy but haven't given them much thought in the past 10 years.

1.5 litre glass bottles of sprite and coke. They were "substantial" and you had deposits on them. Best Bike ride I ever went on ended with two of those (sprite) and I will never forget them ... but gone now.

I grew up on a Military Base. It was a small city on it's own, with housing, stores, entertainment etc. I spent 12 years there.

12 years ago it was shut down. :csad:

You know how you say you can't go home again, I litterally can't unless I knew someone with connections.

You're lucky. The house I grew up in was demolished about a year after I had to move out.

When I moved back to T.O. I went back to the neighbourhood where I spent most of my childhood. Boy had our house changed. The school was the same though it seemed sooo much smaller than I remembered.

Hmmm, not really.

The past is the past.

Well, until I was ten, I lived with my grandmother in what can only be described as "old WW2 housing". White brick with black trim, screen doors and such. Chain links fences seprate the yards of the houses, which were all built together [there were no spaces between the houses]. It was like this

[H][H][H]

Now there are some pretty nice looking houses there, but none of them even close to reminding me of home.

Well...

My friend moved away to Florida about a year and a half ago.

And I really miss him, he hardly comes online or anything.

He was one of my best friends....I truely miss him.

yesterdayland, various friendships and television programs.

I miss going out dancing whenever I wanted. Now I have to consider who will watch my little boy and who will get up with him at 6 in the morning...

No, they still make those. They show up at meetings and other gatherings at which stale cookies are mandatory.
