Gone Too Soon

The truth is i think most of the 4th and 5th season of QL wasn't as good as the first 3, but i really didn't like the way they wrapped up the Finale, so i hope it would have got a 6th season or at least get a movie/Mini series(which might still be possible) to wrap things up better. Hey a new QL series(QL: the next generation) would be nice, too.

Sadly, season 5 wasn't supposed to be the final season. QL was supposed to go into season 6, and we'd find out in the finale that the prior 5 years were just practice, and the leaps were going to get really intense from that point on. But NBC was on the fence, so Belasario started writing a finale that could work for the season or the series. Then NBC surprised them and pulled the plug. :(

its tough to determine, IMO....as it relates to Quantum Leap, it got 5 seasons, thats a pretty good run, yea the ending was a slapped together but its still one of the 4 or 5 best episodes in the entire series

IA. I think 5 years was a perfect run for that show. If you try to stretch out that style of show too long, it could end up getting stale and more of the same syndrome kicks in. It went out at the right time. Some shows just don't know when enough is enough.

every genre/show is different....some can do 5,7,9 seasons and still be decent...some are good for the short term

I really wish these shows could get at least one more season:

Firefly
Freaks and Geeks
Arrested Development
(Everyone says those 3)

Dead Like Me
Party Down
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Those last 3 could definatly use 1 more season at least to wrap things up.

I really liked this show as a kid. Unfortunately it never got a second season.

Both Fillion Vehicles

Firefly and Drive

HBO's Carnivale

Manimal really didn't get the send off it deserved either ;)

OMG! I completely forgot about Manimal! It was only on for a very short time, but was such a cool show!

Now that I've actually seen Firefly, I'd like to add that to my list. Same with Farscape. Two excellent sci-fi space adventures which were loved by the fans but received no love from their own networks.

firefly of course and terminator:tscc.

now i was never a fan of tscc, but after watching it, i realized how it was pretty good. Wanted it to end on a high note and it semi did....but wish it could have seen the proper ending it deserved.

Brimstone.

>_< and Chiller stopped showing re-runs. Where my DVD, WB?!?!

I've never seen Brimstone actually, but it sounds interesting. Unfortunately, WB is really bad about releasing their TV properties on DVD. They've only just recently officially released Thundarr The Barbarian on DVD, but it's only available in through the internet, it won't be available in stores, and there are no special features on any of the DVDs. They made a half assed attempt at releasing Freddy's Nightmares in the UK, then dropped the project due to poor sales of Volume 1 (they would have had better success if they had released ALL of Season 1 instead of just the first 3 episodes).

Star Trek:TOS(Toon&Live-Action series
Batman:60's(Toon&Live Action series)
Spider-Man:70's(Live-Action)
Earth-2
Super Mario&Luigi(Live-Action)
TMNT(Live-Action)
Lois&Clark:TNAOSM
Mortal Kombat:(Animated series)
Mortal Kombat:Conquest
Conan(Toon&Live-Action series)
ANOES:Freddy's Nightmares
Farscape
Birds of Prey
Heroes
Surface
Firefly
Tremors

Are some I can think of from top of my head!

In no real order....

1) Wonderfalls
2) Pushing Daises
3) Dead like Me
(All Bryan Fuller, FYI)
4) Arrested Development
5) Life
6) Earth 2
7) Earth: Above and Beyond
8) Dresden Files (Books are cooler, but still)
9) Firefly
10) Jericho
11) Veronica Mars
12) Caprica
13) Seaquest DSV (Despite Casting Changes wrecked it too)
14) Greg the Bunny
15) Rocko's Modern Life
16) The 4400
17) Invader Zim
18) The Dead Zone
19) Dinosaurs
20) Tru Calling

That's just a few that I recall top of my head.

Now that I've actually watched Firefly a few times, I'm certainly adding it to my list. Unfortunately its short run on TV was during the year I didn't have cable. And the one episode I did see while visiting a friends place made no sense as it was one of those episodes where you needed to know what happened before and who everyone is (I believe it was "War Stories", a great episode if you've seen all previous episodes and know what's going on, confusing as hell when you're jumping in in the middle).

I just got sick when I actually saw how many series and box sets that I own of complete series over the years and ones that are still running...

WELL over 30-40, I'm guessing ... too damn many to list...

I just have WAY too much time on my hands... :whatever:
