Basically movies that you thought were really good, but didn't get alot of recognition, or were killed at the boxoffice by other movies.

For example:

Donnie Darko: It didn't do too well at the box office, the reason: It was released about a week before 9/11. The movie was then held a year before releasing in other countries. But its now a clut classic.

Kill Me Later: Really good film, but was released a week after 9/11 and most of the movie posters had to be taken down becuase they said: Not Ever Hostage Wants To Be Saved! So the film wasn't really known.

But I do have to say that the latter half of 2001 no movie did too well.

The Incredible Hulk - great movie, but because of its previous film there wasn't much hype. Also because iron man and the dark knight came out during the same summer.

9/11 changed everything! :hehe:

It wasn't an action movie, but it was promoted as such. I think had it come out at a different time of year it would have gotten a better reception.

I think its biggest problem is that it went up against Kill Bill at the peak of Beatrix's hype.

Clearly this summer Hellboy 2 and Speed Racer suffered teh most with bad box office timing.

In the case of Hellboy, no. It was just a bad movie. I have a hard time thinking SR might've been any good considering Hollywood's track record w/cartoons.

space camp was released at a bad time
going into theaters shortly after the challenge disaster

Hellboy ll being released a week before The Dark Knight definately undercut it's performance.

I thought The Condemned last year was a decent action film that should of done a little better. I know it was in association with wwe but it was alot better than The Marine and See No Evil .

I was watching this interview with the cast and director of Hellboy, before the movie came out and at the end of the interview the director was like "the movie comes out after Hancock and before Batman, so you only have about a week to see this movie and then thats it." thats sad, i really hope it does well in the other countries when it comes out.

Stir of Echoes was released about a month after The Sixth Sense and got labelled as an imitation, even though the Matheson story came out well before.

ANd what would have been a good time for that debacle?

Hellboy 2. Only had like one week before the dark knight destroyed everything.

Superman Returns - Had a week to itself and then the juggernaut Pirates of the Caribbean 2 came out. I think that if it had another week it would have done much better in the box office.

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - Should have been released in the winter.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army - Came in between Hancock and the Dark Knight juggernaut. Again, another film that would have done better if it just had another week.

Blade Runner - it was released in 1982 when everyone was in love with E.T and didnt have time to marvel in one the the greatest visionary Landmarks on film

Your taking the Last Action Hero too seriously. Its a spoof, and a good one, better than the recent batch
