I think JAL's forgetting that Jolie's a pretty competent actress as well. She's just not a pretty face.

That with a good director is what makes me intrigued by this.

she's certainly going for an oscar with this one... especially with the oscar buzz Moon was getting(but never got, i think?)
jolie reading scripts: "oscar bait... directed by cuaron... starring only me?!..sold!"

funny how they greenlit this movie a few weeks ago... the exact same time moon was released on dvd

if you asked me if I like Jolie..no i used to. and she's no longer that attractive.

my heart belongs to Zooey Descanel and Lizzy Caplan..

I know she's a top rated actress who's won a Oscar and have been in all deep type drama's. I'm just saying I'm not really much a fan of hers.

I think the only movies i sorta liked her in were the Tomb Raider movies and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Do you really want to challenge me on this? Because I already know you'll b***h out like the half dozen other times I tried to engage you into a debate.
A little angry are we?

I see someone sometimes can't see when someone is trying to joke or mess around. Jeez who put your balls in a vice.:o Settle down, relax guy.:woot:

I don't take kindly to people making unfounded assumptions on what I think or feel. Especially if it comes from a multiple offender.

why do you think she's the most famous female actress then?

Lizzy Caplan is hot,as for this movie,I could careless. Wanted doesn't need a sequel.

I'm just saying what people are gonna say. No one is going to ''Oh this reminds me of Moon. " Except uber nerds/fans of that movie and obviously there aren't many, because this is the first time I've heard of it EVER and I talk to alot of people who see ALOT of films.

I don't think Moon sounds interesting though. Sounds pretty boring from it's imdb description.

uberfans aside, how have you NEVER come across a mention of this?
like seriously
all summer long news came up about it as it gained wider releases

and jones just won the BAFTA for the best debut. seriously come off yourself

also, alone in space does not = moon.

This film may and most likely will have an entirely different plot, tone, visual style, different in almost every way.

Come off myself? Because I haven't heard of a indie film with 2 total name actors in it (Rockwell and Spacey). You need to come off yourself.

I'm not being full of myself when I say, I legitimately hadn't heard of the movie. As I don't follow Rockwell or Spacey.

So this is Cuaron's rumored 3d movie ?

Back when Avatar was being made ,several directors went to the mo-cap studio that Cameron had built to test the technology. GUys like spielberg , PJ etc. One of them was also Cuaron slthough he had said that he didn't want o create a big blockbuster and instead focus more on making a smaller 3d movie , preferably a drama.

From the sound of Gravity , it seems this is just that. Anyone who has seen Children Of Men knows that it qualifies as a (SCI-FI) drama movie , not an action movie. Yet it one-take sequences in Children Of Men are often seen in blockbusters.

It'll be interesting to see what Cuaron will make out of this. With WB & Legendary on board , you know that Cuaron will have complete freedom to make the movie as he wants to.

I won't turn this into another debate, but you're implying it's solely because of her looks, you are sadly mistaken. There are hundreds and thousands of sexy would-be Hollywood hopefuls. Most of them don't make it. There are hundreds and thousands of supremely talentd would-be Hollywood hopefuls. Most of them don't make it.

There are very few who have the full package. That's why Jolie is where she's at, and has stayed that way for a while.

Definitely sounds like the 3D project he alluded to. With a star like Jolie, it's looking likely this'll be it, because she attracts the audiences in. I doubt the studio would sanction 3D if it weren't a crowd pleaser.

I'm most interested in Cuaron's inclusion. Cameron's a great director, but Cuaron is visual as he is verbal. Children of Men was brilliant, I can't wait to see him take on a Sci-Fi with 3D technology. It should look masterful.

She's not cast in Gravity

Angelina Jolie Passed on Gravity, Too
Source:Entertainment Weekly February 27, 2010

On Friday, Vulture reported that Angelina Jolie had pulled out of the planned Wanted sequel and that she would instead star in Warner Bros.' Gravity, a space thriller said to be directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

Entertainment Weekly now reports that Jolie's reps have confirmed that Jolie will not reprise her role in Wanted 2. They say the script was already complete and Universal had hoped to start shooting the sequel this year.

However, EW adds that the second part of Vulture's report is not accurate. Jolie's reps say the actress has passed on doing Gravity as well. Warner Bros. told the magazine that it hasn't been able to confirm whether Gravity is even set up at the studio.

Jolie is currently shooting The Tourist with Johnny Depp in Paris. Her next project is to be determined.

i think 'gravity' needs someone else anyway.

and why isn't Alfonso Cuaron directing a DC COMICS movie? WHY WHY WHY?

Good question. Notice that guys like Cuaron had previously worked on a big studio movie yet fo their next flicks decided to go smaller. My guess is that either they don't like the studio looking over their back or just did't deliver with their movies. In Cuaron's case while Azkaban made the least of all potter flicks is was the best received.

and also with comic films, there are established characters and a lot of directors like to do their own thing....they consider themselves artists and probably consider comic book or superhero films beneath them

Downey Orbits Cuaron's 3D Gravity

EXCLUSIVE: Robert Downey Jr. is negotiating a deal to star in Gravity, the 3D space film directed by Alfonso Cuaron. Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures will co-finance.

Cuaron wrote the script with his son, Jonas.

Downey will play the leader of a team posted at a remote space station. While he and a female colleague are traveling outside the space station, the other team members are decimated by debris from an exploded satellite.

The script had been developed originally at Universal with the intention of having Angelina Jolie play the female role. Much of the film is devoted to her struggle to get back to Earth and her daughter. Jolie passed around the time Universal cut it loose. Downey was drawn to the chance to work wtih Cuaron, the director of Children of Men and Y tu mama tambien. The actor's starpower gives Warners execs a confidence boost because right now, how many actresses can carry a big sci-fi film themselves, outside of Jolie?

Downey will shoot the film in London this summer, finishing in time to re-team with director Guy Ritchie and Jude Law in the Sherlock Holmes sequel that will shoot early fall, also in London.

It's great to see Downey picking up quality projects.
And this does sorta confirm that Holmes 2 IS happening and will be released in dec 2011

Heck yeah, with Jolie out and Downey in this one's looking better for sure :woot:
