Great film scores used in bad movies

Danny Elfman's Terminator Salvation score comes to mind. It was an amazing score but unfortunately it didnt match up to the movie at all.

X-Men: The Last Stand. While I personally wouldn't call it a bad movie, it was disappointing. However, the musical score was probably the best thing about it.

Requiem for a Dream was a bad movie? I guess it's all opinion, but I thought it was an amazing film.

Anyway... this is tough since most bad movies had pathetically generic scores (see Clash of the Titans for details).

Eh, I found nothing entertaining about pathetic drug dealers and junkies. Then again, I only watched it because I was at a friend's house, otherwise I doubt I'd have ever considered watching it. The score however, particularly the main theme, is amazing, which once again speaks to my interest in the movie. If I'm paying that close attention to the background music, something's wrong.

Ottman's Fantastic Four theme is still one of the best superhero themes I have ever heard.

Yes. Powell's score is one of the best for recent superhero movies. I'll add:

John Williams' score for the prequel trilogy. End of story. It was just so damn good. I just wish it had been put to good use on three movies that werent so awful.

Danny Elfman's score for Alice in Wonderland is far superior to the film. It's got classic Elfman elements a la Black Beauty while combining his matured style from over the years. Elfman wrote a score for a fantasy epic and it's a shame that it's in such a lackluster film.

Yes. The Phantom Menace in particular is great.

I'd have to disagree on this one, aside from Duel Of Fates there was nothing refreshing about the prequel music, Williams just rehashed pitiful interpretations of classics like the Imperial March and the Jedi's theme.

I'm more mad at myself for buying all three soundtracks actually.
