Just wondering peoples thoughts for some of the greatest games of all time. Heres mine

2. Legend of Zelda A link to the Past (SNES)
3. Final Fantasy VI (PS1/SNES)
4. Goldeneye (N64)
5. Metal Gear Solid (PS1)

honorable mentions: GTA (PS2)
Resident Evil (PS1)
Half-Life (PC)
Madden games (basically any year on any system)

Morrowind and Daggerfall were really good. But there are two others that aren't, so the series sort of suffers.

I'll tell you what will be the best MMORPG ever made, coming out next year.

W.A.R... Definitely going to kick ass.

Warcraft just stole most of it's storylines and plotlines, not to mention races and etc. from the Warhammer lore. Well, it's time for payback. Warhammer style.

And.. Oblivion and Arena were good

Thief series revolutionized stealth gameplay. UNLIKE MGS and all of it's iterations.

KOTORs were brilliant. I don't see your problem with them.

Civilization games were fun.. but that's about all I can argue from. The other games.. besides Halo.. I can't really talk about from experience.

KOTORS wern't brilliant. They were slow, buggy, boring games. Thief didn't really do that much, it's given WAY too much credit. And the Civ games I didn't count as being good or bad, cause they're just kinda blah to me.

Yes they were. KOTORs were the best Star Wars-based RPGs to date. And really captured the scope of the universe and the strife involved.

Thief did alot. It influenced Oblivion's stealth system alot. It had a really revolutionary stealth system for it's time. It really embodied the lone assassin gameplay, which is absent from most other stealth-centered series. It started it all.

Very clever, you turned my accusation of him looking an idiot, backed up facts like him attempting to say "I'm not debating you, I'm arguing a point with you in a back and forth fashion", ergo making him an idiot, and turned it around on me, backed up by the wishful thinking of idiots that I would one day make a post that they could use for such an accusation. Smooth, I see what you did there.















In case there was any question of what you "did there", it was "make yourself look dumb on the internet". But then, this thread is bound to be filled with people who play Madden (*snicker*) and WoW (lol) and don't see anything wrong with them, so I guess I should have expected this when I attempted to introduce taste and class to this thread. In any case, there's really no need for either of you post again. On top of no one in this thread really caring what any one else in this thread thinks is good (save for you two of course, being idiots and all), every game I listed has been praised so many times over so many years by so many people both here and in the gaming press that it wouldn't even be worth the time it took to post "ur wrong lol". So yeah, argument over.

It is debatable. Everything on that list is either overrated crap or just not great enough to be the greatest ever. KOTOR is a good game but the combat blows and it can really drag at points. It took me aobut 24 hrs to get to Dantooine. Then I restarted and it took me 27 hrs to beat the entire game. I wanted to progress the story b/c the gameplay was not all that impressive. Halo 1 is the only good game of the Halo series. 2 only boasts online capabilities.

You can think those are the greatest ever, but don't think it's undisputable.
