Those repetitious chords in that trailer sound so familiar

If I have an issue with this, it's that Cruise lately has been keeping the same hair style and overlook. So here, he looks no different from how he looks in Mission Impossible or Jack Reacher. Sure his hair can get long or medium length but I think he should've went something different here. Buzzcut with a big beard during a mission, then a shave.

It's weird that in The Last Samurai, he was okay to grow out a beard. Or in Collateral, he wasn't afraid to have grey hair and being slightly unshaven. Of course, that's years ago, but I sorta wonder if he's more self conscious now about that.

I can't see this being a big hit though. I think it'll do okay for the weekend, and then drop dramatically.

Reading a few old interviews with Kurtzman.

Cruise's character is a bit of a d**k, apparently. Maybe that's why Crowe beats his ass? :funny:

With a name like Tyler Colt, this surprises you?

His name changed to Nick Morton.

Far better trailer this time round but still nothing to get me to see it.

I think this looks really cool. I'm loving the horror-action vibe. Hope the movie delivers.

Yeah, I can see a situation where the fans of the Fraser Mummy films feel that the new one doesn't look as fun and adventurous as those films, and the horror crowd thinks it looks too mainstream and not scary enough. But I hope it is successful as I want to see more of the classic Universal monsters.

I'll say this, it looks crowd pleasing, and Cruise is really the only genuine movie star left in the world who can draw audiences in.

As soon as I saw those explosions, I knew exactly what I was setting myself up for.

That mid-flight airplane scene right down to the zero-G looks really well done though.

I can't believe they used that silly scream again. I guess they are owning it :hehe:

Looks ridiculous, I don't know about this one...

Not really. Cruise hasn't had much huge recent success with blockbusters/action films other than the MI films. He's not flopping but still

If anything The Rock is probably the last one

Gone are the days of the big movie star, it's all about franchises now at least domestically.

I agree that Cruise only really has his MI films but even those films don't do more than $200M domestically. Most of his films now rely on foreign success where he's still popular.

I'm completely unashamed in my hype for this. Looks like the exact kinda popcorn flick I look for out of a movie like this.
