Halo 3 Has Shipped (And Arrived)

I work at a Toys R Us in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as some of you know, in the video game department. Today, I was going through the new directs we got, when I see a box from MS, labled to go on sale not before the 25th. I think to myself "nah, it cant be...it's so early." Yet I open it, and lo, there is the Halo 3 Collectors Edition, staring at me, in my hands. So, it's arrived.

Take it and sell it on Ebay Joker. Put up a picture with the game and today's newspaper. You'll lose your job, but you'll make a **** load of money from an eager 13 year old fanboy who wants to buy the game a few days early so his other geeky friends overlook the fact that girls will never touch them for a few days .

the first thing that came into my head when I saw it was "just take it and f**king run, they'll never catch you..just take it to canada, and make it your wife"...but of course, that's just silly...they havent passed the legally allow video games statute up there yet

Yeah, they'll let him take the biggest game of the year back to his house, just for free. A loaner, you could call it.

he wouldnt even get that much for it on ebay as opposed to the trouble it'll get him into.

if he got something like 100grand then yeah, but he'll get what, like maybe a grand.

I've also found the game in some stores here in Greece. They wont let you buy it before the 26th though. You can only pre-order it.

they had copies of it at my Gamestop in a case. kinda funny cause they had a HUGE display in the front saying "DO NOT ASK TO PURCHASE HALO 3, AS WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SELL IT BEFORE THE RELEASE DATE"

Our beloved Halo 3 is already being shipped and is making its way into retailers around the world, and employees are being warned not to mess with them otherwise the pink-slip-hammer will be dropped.

In a memo sent from corporate to numerous electronics retailers including Gamestop, Wal-Mart and Game Crazy, they are warning employees to not open shipments of Halo 3 until launch day arrives and those who break the seal can and will be fired on the spot. Stories from numerous retail employees are popping up all over confirming this heightened Halo 3 awareness with some retailers going as far as to lock up early Halo 3 shipments so no one is tempted to open them. And even with such security we can almost guarantee someone or some store (here's looking at you Toys R Us) will break the street date or leak a few copies. Heck, Australia is already a part of that black market.

Is there a good chance of getting Halo 3 first day without a pre-order? Was it impossible to get during halo 2?

There were some places you could find Halo 2.

There's always a place carrying it that's not out of everything but pre-orders, in my experience.

There was a whole glass case full of H2 copies first day at circuit citry.

I didn't pre-order Gears of War, so I went to Gamestop and the guys there were like "*Gyiiiish*... shooda... pre-ordered the ggyyyaaame" so I gave him a look like I wanted to kill him.

I went to FYE, and lo and behold, they had like, sixty copies. They even had plenty of Special Editions. I got the Special Edition.

Check places that you dont think would have it. Like CD places, or outlet stores that have DVD's/CD's. They usualy havbe copies of games and such. I know I found quite a few copies of WoW the first few weeks after release and made boo-ku bucks off it.

Don't you get free slurpees with your purchase too? At least, I've heard that.

I used to work at a Walmart and sometimes I'd help the unloaders empty out the trucks and bring out all the new stock. It was amazing how many things "dissapeared" back there. There was a spot between the Truck and the loading area where something could fall in and easily be recovered from outside later on. Not that I ever did it, I didn't have the gonads for it. I've heard a couple of PSPs were snuck out that way though.

If you're able to get your hands on it the question becomes how much do you value your job? If its just a part time thing that you are getting out of soon anyway, just take it, hell you wouldn't even be the only person who is suspected of taking it.

Rumor has it a few people have gotten their hands on copies, and like the bootlegged ones, their xboxs are banned permanantly. Definatly not worth it.
