Go Trek! They always argue what's better trek or star wars? Well star trek has a lot more to do, a lot more to go. It has a theme, a message. It's not an idea, it's an ideal! It's a social, political, show that promotes goodness, and for that it will never be forgotten. We've had 10 movies, and five television series, and there is another movie coming out next year! Star Wars comes and goes im huge trendy spurts, but Star Trek steadily keeps going!

I don't think it's fair to compare the two. They are completely different. However, it is clear that Lucas has borrowed some ideas from Trek, including some names and concepts.

Either way, Star Trek was amazing then and it still is now.
