That's actually an AWESOME fake poster. Props to whoever made it!

Great news that Yates is back for the final film. I was rather hoping Cuaron would be back but after Cuaron and POA, Yates and OotP has been my fave director/film.

Can't wait to see the final battle, it was a good ending and great to read. I know obviously they will expand on and add to it for action sake but hopfully they transfer the final battle pretty much exact, in terms of how it follows Harry through it and how everyone thought he was dead.

I don't care for Yates. He butchered OOTP.

This is a FAKE teaser poster, but it looks pretty neat so I thought I'd post it.

That is a really cool fake poster, even though it got the quote wrong.

Like I said earlier, we should wait and see both films before cursing the WB of a money-grab. The two-film split, for me, is rectifying the mistakes made with the previous films and if they do it right, it'll be the most faithful HP book adaptation. Again, I reiterate that the filmmakers and studio consulted J.K.R. about the plan for 2 films and she approved. If she didn't, we've have gotten a single 4-hour film. Either way, us fans win.

True, there's some stuff in DH that can be cut (such as the scenes in the woods), but they can also explore aspects of the book J.K.R. didn't shed any light on. And plus, I'm looking forward to Umbridge's return and some more Aberforth scenes.

My only problem is, I don't feel like DH needed two movies. The pacing is going to be horrid as a result as the first half is fairly down beat, sitting in tents, talking, with a couple action scenes here and there where as the second half is basically non-stop action. At any rate, I think one 3 hour movie could've done the trick.

Meanwhile, GOF, which is the longest book NARRATIVELY (not in page length, but it's narrative is much more detailed than OOTP, which is long due to inner monologue and very vivid description), got the shaft. I really think GOF was the only book that required 2 movies.

I am hoping for atleast a good a movies as OOTP was. Yates did a decent job bringing the magical effects missing really since COS.

I disagree entirely. The entire fight between the Order and the Death Eaters was the characters turning into mist and swirling around the room. It was a cheap cop out.

^That poster was confirmed to be fake...found it...but what a loser for making a life size 27 x 40 movie poster and taking your picture with it.

Thats a good thing. It means two chances for a finale HP film. But i dissagree respectfully with the effects in the end of OOTP. It was great ending the fight stuff wish the D/D and V fight was longer but in same right GOF i liked better.

I'm not talking about the Dumbledore/Voldemort fight, that was fine (though I wish Dumbledore made use of the statues like in the book). I mean the Order vs Death Eaters fight. It was nothing more than all of the characters turning to mist and flying around the room. Really underwhelming.

Only Beatrix and Nymphadora flyed around and fought:o

So we're looking at a Thanksgiving release most likely? When do you think the first teaser will be out?

Well i wish we had a long shreaky shack scene in HP3 but we didn't get one but still loved the film.
The death of Sirius is what the death eater scene was for mostly. I think Dumbledores Army v/s DE was really ment to be the good part.
And i think it was.
I hope Dumbledores death at the hands of snape will be powerful maybe they should slow it down like Borimers death in Fellowship Of The Ring.

I hope Dobby of all of the people who die in the last book gets a respectable death.

I disagree with that as well. They entirely ****ed up the DA vs. Death Eater battle. The point of the book was how outmatched DA was. The Death Eaters pretty much wipe the floor with them. It is written as a brutal and savage battle (in fact, if I remember right, the only two who escape serious injury are Neville and Harry, and Neville has his tounge ****ed up and nose broken at that) where as in the movie it can best be described as a playful Home Alone-esque romp with a bunch of kids getting the best of the adults.

In my opinion Yates did not get the tone of OOTP right. Umbridge was not evil (simply a strict teacher, but really no more so than McGonagal). The Death Eaters were not threatening (they got beat up by a few kids). Dumbledore was portrayed horribly (as opposed to being cool under pressure, he seemed incredibly frazzled by Umbridge's presence and the Ministry's interference). Harry's anxiety over being possessed, having seen James act like an ass, or even his grief over Sirius was not translated to the screen. Sirius' characterization just blew chunks. I can go on for ages.

Yates doesn't get it and I have no reason to believe he will in HBP or Deathly Hallows. Especially with his talk of turning HBP into a "romatic comedy." God knows he already ****ed up OOTP enough by trying to turn it into a pseudo-political satire.

Yeah. I think they could put DH into one film. They did it with Order of the Phoenix.

The funny thing about Order of the Phoenix is, it really only needed 1 movie and yet they still ****ed it up. Despite being the longest book, it describes settings in very vivid detail (since there are so many unfamiliar settings in the book), and Harry's inner-monologue is very active. OOTP's narrative is much shorter than Goblet of Fire, which is really the only book that needed two movies. It would've been easy to fit far more of the OOTP narrative into the movie, and yet they simply left out so many important plotlines. Its a shame.
