Now I'm glad why they didn't use it. If they were going to use it in theater, at least replace his "S" shield with a swastika. And maybe give Supes a comb mustache.

Great find, but def prefer the take they chose for the movie.
That one wouldn't have been as bad had his hand been balled into a fist instead of the straight.

I think Zoran said they shot a lot of multiple takes, which is standard on any film, for the zoptic effects shots when I talked to him. I am sure that shot had multiple takes for Donner to chose the best from, and they Denis Coop had Chris doing multiple different variations.

That clip was used in the 1980 documentary: The making of Superman. That is an outtake, not used in the final cut of the movie.
