That's my pic for the Yellow King.

It's been most of our picks since we first met him a few episodes back. He may very well be involved in the conspiracy or the Yellow King himself, but there's much more to it all than just him being "the killer".

Great ep. I love it when Rusty tells that women she should kill herself.

Yea, no doubt. As i said though, some times I miss names in these shows.

He says it almost like its a kind piece of advice, but underneath the calm monotone there's utter disdain for the woman.

It is advice in his mind. He believes that the choice of killing herself is better than suffering through treatment of the press and prison. He wants to help her even though he completely hates her. That's what makes him a great character.

Those two detectives who were interrogating Rust and Marty also ring mighty suspect to me. I feel they're in on the whole thing too and trying to finally end the (the root being to pin everything on Rust) prying into the Yellow King case.

I'm finding it increasingly creepy in the most awesome way. There have just been so many awesome memes coming outta this show. I can't believe the writers didn't realize what they were doing with the lawn mowing part too. Well, almost. It's a pretty damn big coincidence at least lol

Well, one guy wrote all 8 episode long before the parts of Hart and Cohle were cast... So I'd say it was a coincidence. Although, I also remember Nic Pizzolatto saying he rewrote some of the episodes after the roles were cast... So maybe he put that lawn mowing scene in there as an easter egg.

Matthew said when he accepted the role only two episodes had been written, it's in an interview he done. Not saying your wrong just recollecting what I saw.

I actually went back to watch the video where Pizzolotto I was referring to and I was wrong, my bad. You were correct when you said the first two had been written and Pizzolotto wrote the remaining 6 scripts after Matt and Woody had been cast. My bad.

I have a book completely figured but only three pages written.

I was just watching all of the "Inside The Episode" features on HBO for the episodes that have aired thus far. There was something the creator said that never even dawned on me. The reason Cohle was so adamant about getting his beer while being interrogated was for two reasons, 1. He's a functioning alcoholic and 2. Anything he says in that interrogation room becomes inadmissible.

Rust Cohle is a damn genius.

I know I'm late to this but this show is great. I've watched the first two episodes yesterday and thought it was great. I like the concept of the show which will focus on different characters each season as that means we get a proper ending and which ties up the loose ends.

Get out of this thread until you've seen all the episodes! For your own good.

So, what if Hart is the yellow king...but he doesn't even know it?

We've theorized that his dad is involved, and has corrupted his one daughter. So, what if the Yellow King isnt necessarily a willing leader of the cult, rather a final role that someone has been manipulated into for the cult to meet their means? i.e. a ritual sacrifice of sorts?

I didn't even think about that! That IS genius!

Ya know, personally, I don't think that's what's going on. But I will say, it's a damn good theory and you could very well be on to something

I love how the focus was brought back to the relationship between marty and rust over simply the mystery of who the killer iss.

Honestly I'm more interested in how Rust and Marty turn out with relation to each other to end the series, vs who is the yellow king?

I keep thinking about the promo for the next ep where it looks like Rust makes Marty look at a photo of something and you see Marty get all upset. I do wonder if this will be pics of Marty's dad in law molesting the oldest daughter and that is why she is all screwed up. Remember she was drawing those dirty pics way back and they were wondering how she had even seen something like that? She was either touched or saw something that disturbed her. Marty's dad in law is a creep, I can just feel it. :(
