Okay, so I'm 5'6", and generally and objectively speaking, I'm short. The thing is, I shouldn't care so much about it, but I do. It really annoys me that I am the height that I am and quite honestly I'm...insecure about it. And I don't want to say this to be pitied - it's not like I am the only man in the world of this height, it just bothers me a lot and I wonder if anyone could relate.

It's bothered me so much that I was thinking of requesting a name change from XB to --> Shortman. deadass.

I like acting a lot and I've always hoped and wished someday I could be one, but it'd be hard enough considering I'm a minority, but the fact that I'm short destroys my hypothetical and potential chances even more. It's kinda depressing.

Stop browsing the misc. You know what I'm talking about.

I'm not sure why it bothers you "a lot". There must be aspects of your appearance that please you, so why not be confident in those?

As far as the acting goes, Robert Downey Jr. is very undersized in both height and weight, yet he's known for his action roles. There are roles for all body types, and in an ever-diversifying world, being in a minority group (I'm assuming you're referencing skin) is not the hurdle that it once was.

However, lacking belief in yourself is indeed a hindrance. Being humble is a wonderful quality, but don't let it turn into something toxic. Concentrate on the gifts that you have, and use every opportunity to showcase them.

Bunch of manlets in here.

Acting is the last job you would need to worry about your height over. Actors are well known for generally being short.

I'm 6'5". I actually feel somewhat insecure with how tall I am. Bumping my head on low hanging stuff all the time is pretty embarrassing.

Shorter actors have a wider range of characters they can play.....

Also makes it easier to frame multiple people in frame if they're all around the same size. Tried making a short film with a guy that was 6'7". Absolute nightmare.

I'm 32 and still get ID'ed for booze. But I think they may be stricter in the US.

yes, here sometimes they ask for the ID but if they see you look like an adult they don´t, one awkward time was when they asked for my ID and thought it was fake...lol

Your taller than me, I would gladly take your height & be happy with it.. I'm barely 5'2" with shoes on.

I'm 5'8''. I guess when I was younger I wanted to grow taller than I did. But now I don't really care.

I'm 6' 1", which is actually pretty short in my country. Dutch men are the tallest men in the world.

Same here. That's why I have to grow facial hair otherwise I get carded every time. It's funny because when I was 20 I had facial hair and didn't get carded but when I had a job at a bakery when I was 25 I had to shave it off and got carded constantly.

I can verify that. I know a family that are Dutch, they're bakers and the tallest guys is around 6'7.

I'm about 174cm, no idea what the conversion is. All I know is I'm just under the national average.

According to Google that is 5 foot 8.5 inches. Average male height of Australia is 175.6cm. Female average is 161.8cm.

Average American male height is 176.1cm (5 foot 9.5 inches). Average female height is 162.1cm (5 foot 4 inches).

That's pretty much the same as the UK.

I've never really paid much attention to height. I'm 5'7 (and a female) and people in my family used to worry about me getting too tall but it never fazed me.

About a centimeter shorter than Jennifer Lawrence. That's ok, taller girls can be fun. :woot:

I'm fairly short. I Don't worry about it constantly but there are times when it gets me down
