All right, if we're just throwing recommendations around without even knowing the dude's preferences, here are mine:
Thor - JMS is crafting something truly epic and restoring Thor, who had been trivialized and marginalized in decades past, back to his status as a genuinely awe-inspiring cornerstone of the Marvel universe.
Incredible Hercules - First and foremost, it's hilarious. But it's also a pretty deep examination of what makes Hercules tick from a perspective that's never been shown before: what if Hercules were actually forced to be responsible? Pak and Van Lente use mythology to great effect, and the clash between Herc's boisterous, reckless nature and his newfound role as role model to Amadeus Cho create a wonderful basis for development. Plus, Athena's in it now and she's totally played as a typical big sister to both Herc and Cho, which is just great.
Captain America - Probably, to be honest, the best thing Marvel's publishing right now. Brubaker, Epting, Guice, and Perkins are crafting a story that is sure to remain a high-water mark for the character and for comics in general, built on compelling plots that don't throw unnecessary twists and forced shocks around and some really strong, intimate character work.
