Utilising the Heroes of the X-Men Universe, Marvel Universe (which I guess, encompasses X-Men) and the WB/DC Universe, if you could assemble a team of five heroes from each comic, either for a comic book story, or a singular live-action film, which heroes would you pick, and why?

Would you go straight for the brutes? Would you go all female, or all male? Would you go with the characters most likely to bounce off each other (Barry Allen & Scott Lang?) or characters that would be in a constant superiority trip (the likes of Stark & Wayne maybe?)

The villain(s) would be irrelevant at this point. The team would ultimately come together to defeat their opposition.

Do you mean five from each universe, or a grand total of five heroes?

Assuming they mean five total, I'm going to go with a theme:

young Storm, Domino, Valkyrie, Shuri and... Amanda Waller.

Ororo handles area control while Val does the brute force, Shuri equips them, including Domino the striker while Waller handles all the particulars.

Okay.

Batman for tactics, Superman and Thor for raw physical power, Storm and Scarlet Witch for cover and distraction.

I did mean five from each Universe, so five from DC, and five from Marvel. :p

Right. So if we're actually talking five from each universe I'll keep the five I nominated earlier...

Batman for tactics, Superman and Thor for raw physical power, Storm and Scarlet Witch for cover and distraction

... and add Captain Atom, Green Lantern and Silver Surfer for long-range firepower, plus Dr Strange and Zatanna for handling anything mystical.

So if we're going with 5 from each, I'm going to change my whole team up.

From DCEU:
Superman for raw force
Cyborg for digital power
Flash for speed blitzes
Deadshot for precision killshots
Mera for water utility
From MCU:
Captain America for leadership
Shuri for all around epic tech
Dr. Strange for handling magical business
Thor for more raw power and epic elemental support
From the Fox-Men U:
young Jean Grey for telepathic and ranged power

DCEU:
Superman as one-man army
Cyborg for all things tech
Flash for time manipulation

MCU:
Dr Strange to travel anywhere instantaneously & simultaneously
Wasp to go big or small beyond measure

XCU
Jean Grey to rip time and space a new one
Deadpool to withstand the impact
