Hey thinking about starting to read comics only thing is not sure where exactly to begin. Is there a site that gives more info on comics that you guys use? I thinking also about reading civil war now I want to make sure is that a 7 book story? Any help would be great.

Yes. It's a 7 book story. With 1,567 tie-ins.

If your about to jump in right now I suggest you get TPBS{Trade paperbacks} of the old stories you want to read as that would be much easier for you.If you want the 7 issue Civil War Mini it's collected in tpb and most of the tie ins are too.

Well, thing is, we can't REALLY recommend any comics until we know what your tastes are. Someone who religiously watches The West Wing might not enjoy Deadpool or Lobo, for example. And Checkmate might not be your cup of tea if your favorite TV show is Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Comics come in a lot of sizes, shapes, and flavors, so knowing your tastes in other media helps a lot. Don't want to be recommending Epileptic to someone who'd be better suited for Formerly Known As The Justice League.

Aqua Teen is one of my favorite tv shows and Checkmate was one of my FAVORITE comics when it was coming out! :wow:

My advise is to go to your local comic book shop and just look around at things. Even flip through things and find something that appeals to you because that is really the best advise I can give. Because when one is trying to start in comics it's just about finding what YOU like and YOU think looks good to you. Having others say, "Oh, this is TEH AWESOME!" may kind of point you in the right direction or it may make you go, "Ugh, this sucks these people don't know what they are talking about I'm NEVER reading comics!"

And if you don't have a local comic shop you can always browse the Internet at like midtowncomics.com and amazon.com and such. That can help.

What Heroes were you interested in?
I mean Thor and Hulk weren't IN Civil War for example.
Thor was still "dead" and Hulk was off the planet.

Go with Civil War. It gives the reader a peak at what Marvel does best. Action and drama.

That's probably a good idea. Read Civil War, see what characters interest you. From there decide what characters/team books you want to continue with. etc.

Well I know I like a lot from Avengers, Green Lantern, and Ironman. Will do a little more looking around, thank you for all the help so far.
