any idea what i could use to do that Design for a Halloween Superhero party i am going 2? especially the vest

Get a kevlar imatation vest, which you could probably get from most SWAT officer vests. Just tamper with that a bit until it's all black, and then create the skull stencil out of card paper. Apply some light paint, and you're good. Although, the neck guard might be a bit harder. Try getting a black hockey neck guard, maybe a goalie one. They're usually only 8-10 bucks, and you could stitch it to the vest.

Of course, you might need to stictch on some clip packs and whatnot, if you want it very accurate.

as long as its in the general direction does not need to be spot on

You could probably get the black shirt he's wearing under the vest at an army surplus store.

Looks real good, but that's a bit expensive for a Halloween costume. You'd certainly be the coolest-dressed person at the party by MY standards though! Oh, and the first vest would probably be easier to make into the Punisher's one.

There's no reason that anyone needs to spend a lot of money on a Punisher costume. Black cargo pants and boots, get a used gun holster and vest and a can of spray paint.

i am spending 200 tops on this. so its not a problem. i look to use it a few times for parties and such. and my wife is gona be Supergirl and her boots alone were $70 so... lol this should not be that much.

That costume would be easy as hell; the only challenge is the vest because it's got a unique design. Like others have said, you'd probably spend a lot on it though because it's made up of mostly "real" stuff and not cheap ass equipment.

Go to an Army Surpluss, thats your best bet, IMO.

So I'm curious, how did your costume turn out? Any pics of it you can show us?

Regarding the topic of this thread: I have to admit....I grew up at the time when he just came on the scene. With the white boots and gloves and swept back hair style with a hint of an older, wiser man's receding hair line. I sure loved it all. I know that's heresy in this day and age. Also passe and impractical. But really are any superhero costumes practical? I remember the thrill I got seeing that costume and knowing he was guest starring again in a Spider-Man comic. Ah, the old days.

The white boots/gloves Punisher costume is okay in the same reality as Spider-man and Jigsaw wearing a bright yellow battle suit. But as far as films go, no thanks. I seen pic's of a guy at a Convention that had a pretty accurate classic Punisher costume, and it just looks kinda silly live action.

As far as this movies get-up is concernered, it looks like SWAT gear.

Yeah, I know. But when I was in 6th grade this was pretty cool. Great cover with a semi photo realistic painting. Good story inside. Complete with his origin. It was everything I wanted. I kept wanting more like it.

Come to think of it....it's still cool to me.

I'm pretty sure Frank better turn around and deal with those two guys right behind him, or he's a dead man.

But anyways, yeah, the white boots/white gloves combo probably wouldn't work live action. What you've gotta remember though, is the guy at the convention you saw wearing it probably wasn't as built as Punisher is, or didn't look quite enough like him for it to be perfect.

I'm happy they've moved on from the trenchcoat with the new movie though. There's way too many people wearing trenchcoats in popular media today. The way he dresses in Warzone is just fine for me (although yes, I would like a slightly brighter skull!)

Okay.....I can live with that. I, even as a kid, thought it was inspired genius to have the bullets on his belt be the teeth of the skull.

I agree, it's part of my history with the character. But considering who the character is (paramilitary urban assault assassin), the classic John Romita duds do no work well standing in front of you. Where the skull bulls eye makes tactical sense, bright white boots and gloves do not work as well. I dont think Frank would want fire drawn to his hands and feet, his exposed head is bad enough.

The convention guy was about my height and pretty in shape, but he used spandex, cotten gloves, and white vinyl/leather. It looked a bit too Superhero.
