"Well Microsoft won't require it therefore it'll never happen"

While that may ring true, there are many hdtv owners who would like for their consoles to have an hdmi out, so they dont have to deal with so many plugs in the back, not to mention testimonials that hdmi just has a somewhat cleaner edge to it. In the end, Microsoft obviously won't require it, but if they know charging 40-50 bucks for a first party hdmi cable (still relatively cheap compared to the complete ripoffs by companies like Monster Cable) will make them money, you can bet you'll see one soon enough. Honestly, try to think of the last time a console company DIDN'T release every possible accessory under the sun.
