Well, I hope this is new. Retro might've found it already before (mods delete this, if this is the case) :p

I was looking around the net for X3 artists to interview, and I came upon X-Men: The Last Stand storyboard artist, Adrien Van Viersen. He has posted the work he's done for X3 on his official website. It includes storyboards of scenes we've seen, and deleted scenes never shown before...check it out. :wow:

wow thanks for posting. The art looks amazing and some of the scenes i wish they had, such as colossus vs juggy and kitty phasing through people. Cool links :)

I LOVE Magneto's line "Are you a god...or an insect?".

WHY WASN'T THAT KEPT IN!?

And "The Wrath of Jean Grey" storyboards look amazing. Why didn't we see destruction on the level of that?

the San francisco version would haven been million times better. Destruction in the citty!, ohh, I always loved that idea, but we didn't see it in X3... maybe in X4, I wish...

Wow!!!! I just watched the phoenix destruction pics and.........Oouch!!!!! This hurts even more, more reason to hate Fox........ the pics are millions of times better than the movie cut.....

I was gonna post a thread on those pics. But yeah, their amazing. But ya'll have to remember, we couldn't have too much Phoenix destruction because it would have "took us out of the movie" :whatever: .

Yeah, right:whatever: :woot: ....

That Phoenix stuff would have been fantastic, but ultra-expensive....

yes, but other studios have done things as big as that. so really don't understand why Fox didn't do it...

exactly, there's no excuse for Fox to not do it...

I don't know. I can't speak for those who made the decision. Time? Budget? Story reasons? Creative reasons?

But at least it proves that the firebird was part of the script and that this movie was written/storyboarded in a much more epic way.

That cruise ship being split in half....very superman returns :D

I wish Jean really did destroy all of san fran and that bobby came in to the battle on an ice slide :(

That's right. It would have been a massive and glorious ending, it would have let me satisfied..... Imagine, the whole city getting destroyed, and millions of people running for their lives and screaming because of the phoenix celestial chaos...

I love the Jean storyboards... they rock! Just one more reason added to hating Ratner!

What the hell? and i see rogue wasn't in it even from that early stage- the writers were probably talking bull when they said it was she was in early versions

Shame they didn't stick with the idea of Iceman ice-sliding down from the X-Jet.

pity there was no ice slide full stop

I hate the 'what could have been' side of X-Men 3! :(

OMG!!

The movie looks so lackluster compared to this!!

:(

Oh and to those who say "budget"

What about movies like Independence day, Deep Impact, Armagedon, and Day after tomorrow?

They managed to do fine with the effects and mass destruction scenes.

Time on the other hand yes was an issue.

Considering they never said that. Then I'd say no.

they did and that version was included in one of the film novels. I wish i could find the link again but they reaffirm it in the commentary on the DVD they say Anna was shooting another movie at the time(which we all new) so her role had to be smaller.

and on a side note its nice to see you and darthsphere here i haven't seen you post in X3 before or i don't remember it- which is possible:woot:
