How do I post a GIF as my avatar?

Everyone's got such a good GIF avatar-- keep trying to upload one but even the simplest get a 'remote file is too large' message. Anyone want to school me?

you're gif has to be maximum 50x50 and below 46.3 kb in size I think

Yes. On the upload page it tells you the max file size.

In the fan art forum there is a avatar request thread where you could have someone make one to fit your parameters if you ask them.
