2. Did he return to work at the Daily Planet at the end? And if so, how did he make that happen (since they all think he's dead)?
Regarding the first question: It's relatively easy for me to assume that he just went to the Kryptonian ship first and had it 3D print him a new one. That would also explain why the colors are slightly brighter.
Regarding the second question: We technically don't know whether or not he's working at the DP again. He's dressed up in the classic "reporter" coat, shirt, tie, and glasses, but that doesn't make it official. I'm pretty sure the intention there though is that he's a reporter again.
