How do you play ps2 online?

I have never played the ps2 online or any video game system online. I know you have to get some kind of special adaptor but what else do I need to buy in order to play online?

If you have the slimline model, you only need to plug in your dial-up/cable modem line into it.

If not, you need to buy the Network Adapter for the big-ass version.

Are the headphones cheap?
