The Avengers HOW EASY: to Rewrite Selvig as Pym

Movie was awesome. No question, but this just struck me as an easy intro to an original member without making him a hero yet.

Also the Vision rumor could have worked and could have been a nice way to reintroduce arim Zola in his comic form. Using his tech along with stark tech to transform Coulson into Vision--post credits of course.

Well if you were going to do that then you'd have to go back and alter the Thor movie as well. Not sure having Pym as a major character in Thor's debut movie would have been well received.

It helps the cohesion of the universe on screen to not just have the heroes crossing over but a few of their supporting cast as well. Selvig is part of that.

Mmm, I'm gonna cop flack for this but I'll say it anyway.

I don't want Pym in an Avengers movie. The guy is a creep. There are other, cooler Avengers I want to see first.

That just sounds incredibly convoluted and messy. I expect Vision's origin, if introduced would be rewritten to an extent, but that seems quite the deviation. Not to mention that both or either Zola and Vision would just have been too much for the movie.

If you ask ME, I think they're going to be writing Banner into Pyms parts since they've Signed Mark for 6 films.

I would have said the same about Iron Man actually taking Pym's parts. I could see Tony creating the Vision and having something to do with Ultron.

My idea would be that Pym is a member of SHIELD already in their science division.

When Stark tries to hack SHIELD, their system reported it as a virus.. since i can't see Stark intentionally uploading a virus.. I thought it'd be a neat touch if SHIELD had been secretly working on AI advances and Stark's tinkering caused the Ultron program to evolve..

In a way, the door is open already with Jarvis as AI, so imagine Jarvis as programmed by SHIELD. Also, it'd be a way to establish some immunity to Stark if the two ever did clash in the future.
