I saw TDK on Friday, then in IMAX on Saturday and I wanna go again in a few weeks, like in August. Do IMAX viewings end earlier or what?

It really depends on the theatre and how much of a crowd they attract. I remember the first Matrix stayed at the Universal Citywalk IMAX for almost a year.

I'm pretty sure it will last as long as people in your market/community demand it or until the next film that is being released in the format. The next movie that is being released for IMAX is "Fly Me to the Moon" which opens August 8th. How theaters will schedule times for each film I'm sure will be determined by demand. I highly doubt FMTTM will last and TDK should take back the reigns for another month or two.

Hehe thats funny cause I want to go on the 8th.

Its the IMAX in New York in Lincoln Square. Hope they don't take it off anytime soon. :woot:

I'm hoping TDK can make it till SEPT in IMAX in Orlando, so I can check it out when I go on Vacation at the end of August...

Well I am planning on making a trip a couple hours away Aug. 18-19th and the IMAX there will still be showing it then so I can see it.

It should be there for a while, considering it broke records for IMAX already I would think they would like to keep it there and make as much off of it as possible.

I admit the film is amazing in a regular theater but in IMAX it is spectacular!

I hope its still playing this weekend. I plan on driving up to the IMAX in Louisville and seeing it.

I bet not only does this movie stay in IMAX for a while - but it gets a re-release at some point.

I think it would depend on what other movies are planning IMAX releases this year. It could be until December only movie I can think of is "The Day the Earth Stood Still".

BB was on the Imax screen at my local for months on end back in 05.

"Spider-Man 3" pplayed on IMAX for a full two and a half months last summer, until "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" came out. It wouldn't surprise me if some IMAX theaters kept TDK until November, when "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" comes out.

I doubt they'll keep playing it that close to the dvd and blue-ray release date.

Transformers was still playing in IMAX when it came out on DVD and HD-DVD so I wouldn't put it past them .. next two BIG IMAX movies are Madagascar 2 and Harry Potter 6 ... in November .. Im sure something else will take over for TDK by summer's end at the earliest tho

My local IMAX has it scheduled to run through the first week in October. I'll likely go at least once every month until then. Gotta catch it in IMAX while you can...

Madagascar 2 will open in select IMAX theatres in November for a very limited engagement. Harry Potter 6 will open 2 weeks later on Nov 21st (Select scenes in IMAX 3D). Next year will have Monsters vs, Aliens in IMAX 3D and Watchmen. The rest of 2009 has not been announced yet.

I would not be surprised if they announced a title for Sept-Oct 2008. I think it is a safe bet that TDK will play through the end of September. It could go longer.

I wish the IMAX I went to gave away something Batman related jeesh.
